Thanks for sharing. I was thinking of using them for practice since many have decent results and they can be had for very cheap. Must be a bad lot or something.

Seen reports of this for a while.  Especially in high velocity target handloads, shot from high twist rate barrels, needed for long range shooting.  Jacket failure and ballistic tip failure was said to be the culprit.

Supposedly the ballistic tips from Hornady was reformulated to prevent friction melting, however Hornady jackets where known to be of thinner construction.

I guess I'll stick with the tried and true 69 SMKs I guess. I can get 1K of the 75 HPBTs shipped for $150. I know they are mediocre quality but many have been having decent results and the price is hard to turn down. Maybe Nosler will have some overuns on their 69 CCs soon.

I friend gifted me a complete 24" 1:9 upper so I've been playing with that recently.Pretty sure with a 24" I'd be well over the 2750 velocity. More reason I'd better stay away.

If ever I go back to PRPC, I'll stick with the 90s and my bolt gun.
