all im saying is that if i began my journey into firearm ownership today,  it would be hard to find information if i didnt know anyone or knew about this forum etc.

where can you sign up for lets say a multiday handgun class that i will pay someone to teach me the proper basics?

id have to go to a life session or hdf.  are there others?  where do the instructors at the gun shows teach their students?  at the public range?  certainly not at any o the action bays...

what am i missing?  ive seen individuals at the range who seems to care that they cannot hit thier pistol target at 25yds.  where can thise individuals go?

There are many clubs that use the action bays, inquire with the range officers.

MPPL.net is 1 of 3 IPSC clubs that use the action bays. There you can draw from holster, reload from your mag pouches and shoot ALL 10rds from your magazines. They also have rifle side matches as well as shotgun matches. There will be a true 3-Gun match coming this 2nd half of the year at hawaiipracticalshooters.org

You may sign up as many people as you like so long as their course fee has been paid.

All applicants must be 21 years of age or older to attend the course. Hawaii State Law prohibits persons under the age of 21 to purchase firearms. Other requirements by Hawaii State Law require that you must:
  Not be a fugitive from justice
  Not have been convicted of a felony
  Not a user of illegal drugs
  Never have been committed to a mental institution
  Not have been dishonorably discharged from the US armed forces
  Not be an illegal alien
  Not be subject to a TRO
  Not be convicted of a misdemeanor crime of violence

To purchase a pistol in the state of Hawaii you must be a U.S. Citizen over the age of 21, attend a Handgun Safety course from an NRA Certified Instructor and pass a background check with HPD. Currently we offer a pistol course that will meet Hawaii state requirements for purchasing firearms (HRS 134). The Pistol Course is for beginners and Hawaii state residents interested in purchasing pistols. This course will teach you the basic knowledge of modern revolvers and semi auto pistols, parts, operation, firearms safety, basic-intermediate marksmanship skills and maintenance of your firearm

Must cancel within 72 hours of the class to be rescheduled into the next class.
