Your trolling is unnecessary

That's not a very objective statement.

I talked to a guy who isn't a US citizen and asked if he would join a militia so he can keep his 2a right (assume it was needed to keep it). He said no because as a peon in a militia, he has no say in what the org believes.  And if they believed overthrowing the government was needed, then he would lose his permanent resident status and get deported.

Aren't we mostly all in the unorganized militia at some point of our lives?

Hawaiii SC judge would disagree stating the only milita needed is the Aloha Spirit militia.

I think 99.9% of our politicians forgot they took the oath of office once they got elected.

The other .1% of politicians who took the oath of office are republicans.

Fact Sheet: Unlawful Militias in Hawaii

Quote
Federal and state laws generally use the term “militia” to refer to all able-bodied residents between certain ages who
may be called forth by the government to defend the United States or an individual state.

See 10 U.S.C. § 246.

When not called forth, they are sometimes referred to as the “unorganized militia.” A group of people who
consider themselves part of the able-bodied residents referred to as members of the militia under state or federal
law is not legally permitted to activate itself for duty. A private militia that attempts to activate itself for duty,
outside of the authority of the state or federal government, is illegal.

So we're legally in the militia, we just can't do anything until we're officially asked to do so?

My (very limited and likely flawed) understanding is that these militia laws (there is a federal one with nearly the same language) are important for reasons beyond clarifying the second amendment/ section 17... I was told that there couldn't legally be a draft without them. Hopefully somebody with real knowledge can expand on that.

I would take this with a grain of salt.  This is the same organization representing the State of Hawaii to fight our 2A lawsuits.  Neal Katyal, an Obama Solicitor General who opposed us in Young v Hawaii, is one of their leaders.
Join the Hawaii Firearms Coalition at www.hifico.org.  Hawaii's new non-profit gun rights organization focused on lobbying and grassroots activism.

i didn't intend for it to be definitive,   :geekdanc:

But the information and facts it contains are accurate up to the point of discussing militias interfering in polling places.  Just wanted us to be aware of what others are building the "militia" case on.

If you're a militia that dresses like homeless people then who's going to know the difference?
