Kualoa ranch is a nice but kinda expensive place for horseback and ATV riding and tours where they made movies like jurrasic park.

Koko crater hike goes up a set of old stairs about 800 feet up.  Good view.  Its also above the shooting range.

Kuliouou is also another good 3 mile hike up to the mountain ridge for a good view.

Learn about Hawaiian history at the bishop museum and tour iolani palace.

I dunno of any good outdoor shops here since sports authority closed.  Young Guns has a good selection of guns and hunting stuff.

Some exellent suggestions zippz i'll look into them  :)

Also check out Diamond Head Lookout/Volcano.

During WWII, pill boxes that are still there were set up in case the Japanese invaded from that direction.  Amazes me how they got equipment up that damn trail with no helicopter.

Make sure to check on line to see if at Pearl Harbor, the Arizona Memorial is able to be visited.  They've been having issues for the boats docking so it's hit or miss.  But there are other things to do at Pearl Harbor also.  Like the USS Missouri (where the Japanese signed the surrender doc) and the Bowfin (WWII submarine) and other stuff.  I haven't been there in a while, but there were Pearl Harbor vets who would hang and talk story with the visitors.  But this was like 10 years ago, and I've been hearing there aren't many left.

That would make a lot more sense.  Although I did see vids of the japs moving stuff on Iwo Jima by muscle.

Ticked pearl harbour off my list a few years ago, have seen the island change a little bit each time in my 24 years, i think the first time i went i was about a month old! Now i'm of legal age i'm keen to explore, wouldn't mind heading up into the mountains in a 4wd, might see what a rental would cost, thanks for the replies guys keep it up! Finding more and more out each time :)

Not really many off road places, especially in the mountains. If you do try to rent a 4wd, be prepared to pay $$$ if you get stuck and especially if you bust an axle. Some buddies had the bright idea to try that at Kaena Point and ended up paying a ton!

Oh ignorant youth, the world is not a joyous place. The time has come for you to dispense with the frivolous pleasures of childhood and get down to honest toil until you are sixty-five. Then and only then can you relax and collect your social security and live happily until the time of your death!

Ocean activities are great here.  You don't have to worry about getting eaten by sharks or killed by jellyfish.
