How to build an LR-308 (AR-10) style lower receiver
« on: March 04, 2010, 08:37:31 AM »
Real Guns posted a great tutorial on how to build up an AR-10 style lower receiver as part one in building an AR-10 style rifle from little boxes of parts. It's a great tutorial with a ton of close up pictures so you can see the most minute details.

P.S. it's not really an AR-10 but DPMS's LR-308 in .308.

Oops, I just remembered about this post. I double checked and Real Guns has posted part two on how to build an AR-10 style rifle. The result is a very nice looking rifle with a Magpul PRS stock and Bushnell Elite 6500 4.5-30x50mm scope. I really want one.

The total weight came out to 12 lbs. 13 oz. :o but could be dropped 5 lbs. by using a lightweight contour barrel.

Be careful with AR-10's guys.  There are variances that exist between manufacturers, so it's not an easy build like an AR-15.
