if I'm reading it right, today, Jan 21st, is opening day of the Hawaii State 2026 legislative session.

and January 28th (next week wednesday) is the cutoff for introducing bills?  I guess that's when we find out what we're up against.  Barring any "gut & paste" shenanigans that go on at the 11th hour, yeah, never happens ...
