Looking to see if there is interest in taking the CERT class. It's a free 3 day basic search and rescue and field aid class. The 3rd day is scenario training where you rescue people. It's taught by the City to community volunteers so you can help your neighbors during a disaster event. I used to do search and rescue and there is a lot to learn and hazards you may not think about, such as don't go into confined spaces because gas can knock you out instantly. Also shore up collapsed structures before entering.
Looking to see who's interested in taking a class like this. I would like to arrange for a special 2a group class on the weekends in August, September or October. I need about 20 people.
Must be 14 years of age and older. The disabled and seniors can also attend. Everything is provided.

The following week is gun show too (Sept 29th). Looking to get a special class made for us if I get enough people together.
This is the website for more information on their programs.. http://www.honolulu.gov/demvolunteer/cert.html
There are also community preparedness groups around the island. In addition to CERT, they provide support and do volunteer activities like outreach and helping with assessments after a disaster. http://www.honolulu.gov/demvolunteer/communitypreparedness.html

Looking good so far. This is also a community service project building relations between the shooters and the community. Helping to save lives in many ways.
Maybe get the media to cover and advertise the course.
