Political Discussion / Twitter is "Commie as F*ck"

Quote from 1 of their high level engineers on hidden camera from Project Veritas.  Another is "After I came here, I became way more left". And more admission of censoring the right and not the left.

Internal memo went out telling employees to be careful of dating, job interviews, etc...when talking about what they do.
Political Discussion / BLM donations when where?

Leaders baby daddy got paid $900K for a "creative" position. Her brother got paid $700K for a "security" position. I'm sure both are very qualified to do their positions.

So what have they done with the millions? Have they started any programs to train the police on how to deal with unruly black people?  Have they built or gave money to run down black communities for their schools, rec centers, low income housing, etc...?

General Discussion / Possible HIFICO July 4th BBQ

Possible BBQ by HIFICO to celebrate not only the 4th, but Young vs. Hawaii possible win, SCOTUS NY vs. Bruen possible win, the work Alan Beck, Kevin O'Grady, and Steven Strambough do.  And the ending of the legislative session.
Political Discussion / Roe vs. Wade Violence Thread

It begun last night in LA.many wearing black hoodies and face coverings.  Cops being assaulted again.

This seems familiar...i wonder how many are being paid.

When law makers who support the ability to choose throw tantrums in public, this doesnt help keep the peace.

Typical response when 1 side doesnt get their way. Wait till the actual ruling is made.

General Discussion / Handgun External Safety
« on: May 03, 2022, 09:50:20 AM »
So with my new purchase that has a thumb safety (1911), I notice that I learned with newer technology that has no external thumb safety (VP9).  The VP9 just has a bladed trigger.  And our other gun CZ P10C and M&P 9C has the same, bladed trigger.  Neither have a safety lever type of device.

So with this being said, how do you old timers feel about the newer guns having no thumb or like external safety?  For me, as an example, the P320's are not my cup of tea. Although striker fire, they have no bladed trigger or thumb like safety (M17/18 excluded).  Or even a heavier 1st pull like a double action with the hammer down or revolvers. And IMO that is a pretty big safety issue in general.  Which it all comes down to not putting your finger on the trigger is the bare minimum and no other safety redundancy in case this fails (included is stuff getting caught on the trigger).

As a newer owner who learned on striker fire, I have no prior XP to compare it to.

Are external safeties (lever or bladed trigger) going the way of the dodo. Like how almost all AR's have an optic on them and iron sights only are the way of the past.  Thoughts?

They want to bring back the bringing in the firearm for registration for all purchases/transfers not done by a FFL. So out of state purchase, private sale, inheritance, etc...

A judge already ruled HI cannot do this and yet here is the bill that ignores a judges ruling.

Also read the bill. They use militia as an example, but leave out the ages for a militia (18), because you must be 21 to buy a gun in Hawaii.

They also stated the militia was mainly white men.

They used 30,000 annual gun violence deaths is the reason for this, but isn't 2/3 of these deaths suicide per FBI/CDC stats? (Correct if I'm wrong).
Label everything as a threat to national security. Like how they called gun deaths a "pandemic". We will see them use this in the years to come.

General Discussion / Got Permit to Acquire by email
« on: April 27, 2022, 10:16:14 AM »
Thanks to HIFICO and the plaintiffs (Yukutake and David from Danger Close Tactical).

I already did the online reg which took 2 mins and did it at 11pm.

Got my PTA by 8:45am the first day it is made available.  Although I did talk to another guy who's PTA came in at 11am on the 1st day.

I printed them out (handgun and long).
Legal and Activism / Updated Yukutake etal. vs. Connors (Shikada)
« on: April 25, 2022, 11:50:30 AM »
So as you've seen in this section, the state is trying to pass a bill that says only FFL purchases no need bring the gun to HPD, and all others you have to (private sales, mainland purchase,etc...)

Another reply to the states appeal was filed today saying that this is violating the judges ruling.  For all purchases/transfers there is no need to bring in the gun to HPD to show them.

So basically the state is violating the judges ruling and trying to see what they can get away with.  But since HIFICO has good lawyers, they've submitted the brief about it telling the state to uphold/honor the judges ruling.

And the state has yet to change the permit to acquire valid date for pistols from 5 days to 10 days as the judge ruled.

Went to visit the shop under it's new owner for the 1st time.

They renovated/expanded.  So it's not just the counter like before.  Selection also expanded.  He's a dealer for DFNDR body armor and has the plates in stock and carrier.  Soon to sell Tasers that don't require a $200; 4hr class.

Also he does slide milling for RDS, unsure which pistols though and it it's outsourced or done in house.  His IG mentions Glocks only.  But he knows I don't own a Glock.

Also he's an authorized dealer for Shadow Systems.  Which is the next pistol once I make the RDS commitment.

Hours of operation are 4pm-8pm; 7 days a week.  Parking is street parking.  We parked in front the church.

Most important, David is 1 of the plaintiffs on the Yukutake vs. Connors (Shikada) lawsuit.  He is part of the reason why  you can register your guns online and can have your permit to acquire emailed to you and extended hours on Wednesdays.  I read the lawsuit and it's not just about violating the 2a, there needs to be the right person for it.  So for his prior day job, he was on call 24/7 and might not be able to make the 3 trips to HPD.  So having an online option or not having to bring the gun in was a much better option.

I forgot to mention that when I purchased a pistol via Gun Broker, I was able to click on his FFL which makes the process very fast and easy.  I did a GB search within 25 miles of my location and he was the only FFL that popped up.  I would do a courtesy call  first though to get approval to send him something instead of just doing it and leaving him in the dark.

Preparedness and Survival / Shanghai Lockdowns
« on: April 14, 2022, 11:55:23 AM »

They were told 4 days and now it's been 2 weeks. So the American prepper wouldn't have too much an issue of no food. But I don't think China has a prepper mentality.

Then add in the killing of peoples pets and quarantine camps, that's another issue.

By the professors tone, it seems like he has to be careful of what he says. No 1A in China. There are vids of the bad stuff going on, and of course you won't find it on the main stream media channels.

Then factor in how many would be able to afford to buy that much food prepper style wise.  Going based on my Taiwan XP, to have hundreds of dollars of extra food for long term storage would be difficult when your income is $600 US dollars and your rent is $60 US dollars.

General Discussion / HPD Permit to Acquire
« on: April 13, 2022, 11:08:58 PM »
Was at HPD today and 2 older guys in front of me thanked HPD for being open later on wednesdays.

Guy 1

1 good thing that came about from covid is u guys open later now. Thanks.

Guy 2

Thanks for being open late today. Now i dont have to take off from work. And i can get my permit emailed. Saves me another trip.

Minutes later: wow, i can register online now, thank you.

I almost wanted to bust out and explain why HPD is open. Its not because they wanted to, for those who are unaware. They were served a lawsuit and settled. So HPD was forced to open late and do online registrations/permits.

I was in line and didnt want to lose my spot by explaining to them. Now that i reflect back, i should have.

So if u got friends who are happy about the new system, let them know why. Its because the state settled a lawsuit  by HIFICO. And HPD has no choice.

At least neither officer took credit after the statments of thanks were made. Not even a youre welcome by them.

Political Discussion / Texas drops off first bus of illegals in DC
« on: April 13, 2022, 12:05:56 PM »
Notice how the fake news doesn't say illegal but instead undocumented. I'm surprised they haven't just called them "Mexican nationals" instead.  Because if they're on the bus, I'm sure there is some kind of documentation that they're here.

Let's see how many DNC members/staff come outside to help them. You know the ones that have been welcoming them and being outspoken about it since 2016.

So far it's been a few hours and not 1 yet. Just media crews.
