Off Topic / Weapons other than firearms
« on: March 22, 2021, 09:56:14 PM »
Idk if this subject has been touched before. But what does anyone here prefer to use as a weapon other than firearms .

As a child i took karate and boxing. I still hit the tree (yes tree) once in a while, as well as my wooden dummy (metallic dummy with pads in the correct places. Wooden arms and legs tho). The tree is more for power type punches. Anyways, i also used nunchakus for a few years, not the best at it, always hit myself but gotten better.

Now im thinking bout using tonfas since i dont wanna buy brass knuckles. I aint planning on carrying it or anythin, just some fun, exercising, a good melee weapon if i lose all firearms/ammo for some reason.

A knife, machete are obvious choices. I do throw knives too which is hella fun. Not much of a spinner, mines are usually flat while being thrown. Good to bout 20 feet or so. Any further i have to enable a spin.

Anyways, just a friendly discussion.

General Discussion / T posts at kokohead rifle side
« on: February 14, 2021, 07:27:40 AM »
Hi, its been a long time since going kokohead, rifle side, and i was wondering if using t posts are allowed there?

Meaning, am i allowed to pound a t post into the ground and put my targets up? I have gongs too but i wanna use paper shoot n c targets to dial it in.

The last time i went there i had to widdle my young guns target stand to fit the pipes that are in the ground already. Those pipes were so messed up lol. The young gun stand had since been dumped cause i left it out in the weather for bout 2 years.

If so, same hours of operation as pre covid?

Firearms and Accessories / 20ga chokes
« on: November 20, 2020, 08:22:19 AM »
Hi , i was hoping anyone could answer this.

So i was looking through my parts bin and found a modified choke for my rem 870 20ga. Ive shot foster slugs out of the improved cylinder that i have on now before without issue. I only bought the improved cylinder choke. Im surprised remington sold the shotgun with a modified choke. I assumed way back when it was a cylinder bore choke.

I also bought 20ga brenneke magnum silver slugs 1 oz. (not crush or the other gold plated or black plated slugs) from sechawaii a couple weeks ago.

Has anyone ever shot a foster slug or brenneke slug through a modified choke? Is it safe? Lol.

More concerned bout brenneke slugs. Idk if they are hollow on the inside like foster slugs. I seen plenty of vids of people shooting foster slugs througj full chokes.

I called brenneke but the lady couldnt help me. Some customer service that is. Lol. On their website it says any slugs with the exception of crush and other colorful slugs can be shot with any choke. I know the ribs are meant to collapse through stricter chokes. But idk.

Thanks in advance

General Discussion / Airshows
« on: October 10, 2020, 03:18:57 PM »
Bored as hell again.

I was watching b1b , chinooks, f15 etc. Airshows, unrestricted fly bys.

Wouldnt it be really awesome if they dropped confetti over the bystanders at the airshow?

Or even better dollar bills. Atleast there wont be trash leftover.

Imagine a b1b bomb doors opening up, old farts getting heart attacks. But dropping dollar bills and in that lump of cash, theres a golden ticket in which youll win a free ride in any current military aircraft lol

This is the kind crap you see in movies. I can understand frustration. But these stupid actions would put more restrictions against pro 2a enthusiasts.

General Discussion / Has anyone ever wondered...
« on: September 20, 2020, 09:12:09 PM »
Ok, so sitting at home and doing nothing, my mind began to wonder why did it have to be a .223 caliber. Couldnt they have made it a .225 bullet instead or .3? Would it be easier? Couldnt they have made a larger casing if powder was the downfall of having better ballistics back in the day?

Imagine.. if 5.56 didnt exist. And the military standard for an ar15 back in vietnam era was a 6mmx50 cartridge or something else. I kinda understand that the 5.56 was probably invented so the .223 could be used incase of ammo shortage during the war. Like now haha. With all these new calibers in the ar15 platform coming out with better ballistics than the 5.56, wouldnt it have been great to have started out with this from the GET GO.

The other thing that has been plaguing my mind is why dont they make a lpvo that goes from 1-15x25. Ok so the 25 i just made up, i dont really care bout that. Im just curious why couldnt they make a lpvo that goes from 1 (or as close as true 1x) to 5x to 10x to 15x? Skip all those inbetween numbers. Im sure if it was possible someone would have done it by now. But doesnt those 5-25x scopes skip inbetween numbers??? Or can you really stop at 11x or 17x?

Kind of like that elcan 1x-3x-9x. Or whatever magnification range.  But in a lpvo outer form.

Anyone else should post questions they have been wondering during the covid shutdown. Itll be interesting to see if anyone else has or had something they have been wondering.

Bored as fuck

Dont know if the whole mag capacity bill still going on, but saw this on my recommended list on youtube. Also dunno if anyone posted this before.

Title is "sheriff demonstrates how magazine capacity..." forgot the rest of the title haha.

1. I wish i could see the target after christy shot the ar15. If she hit all targets at COM. Then damn she not bad at all.

2. Youll notice Jim pick up his pace when firing magazines where he has to reload.

3. I love the new york reload with revolvers. Buy more cheap revolvers 🤣🤣🤣

Firearms and Accessories / Scratches on upper receiver
« on: August 08, 2017, 08:13:12 PM »
So I Google fu'd it and no direct answer can be found.

Just wanting your guys opinions or possible experience.

I have a spikes upper receiver that's been laying around for quite some time. Maybe 3-4 months old. Finally took it out of the package today and noticed 2 scratches or gouge on the upper receiver unerneathe the barrel nut threading. I didn't install any barrel. I just was oiling it because I noticed the inside looked white ish. Maybe the anodizing isn't well applied. Anyways, do you think it's safe to use? I used a toothpick and plastic cleaning pick and there is a noticeable difference. If it were anyplace else I'd use it, but being under where the barrel extension goes, idk... Lol I mean the anodizing is completely off. Some threading (closer to muzzle end) looks flat. Doubt anyone tried to use it before cause the anodizing on threads is still there. Bought from aim surplus I think... I got a dud lol

Thanks for any input.

Firearms and Accessories / Pistol grip shotgun
« on: September 07, 2016, 04:17:28 PM »
Ok, so I was reading online about PGO shotguns from factory.

Wouldn't it be cool if mossberg or remy make a shotgun with a short barrel (maybe around 14-10 inch) with a welded pistol grip attached from FACTORY be legal to own as a pistol?

Would all they have to do is engrave the words " pistol only" onto the receiver and /or barrel?

Technically an ar15 must have a welded mag and stuff to be legal in Hawaii and cannot be shouldered while shooting to be considered as a pistol.

What if it was engraved pistol only, have a welded pistol grip, have a welded tube (so it cannot have more than 10 rounds.) well with a 10 inch barrel it would look stupid with more than 3-4 shot tube anyway.

What is your take on this?

According what I was reading online , the Atf says if it came from factory with a pistol grip it doesn't qualify as sbs cause it was never intended to be shot from the shoulder. Well that what others said.

Anyways what ya think?
