General Discussion / Big Island Pistol Shooters
« on: September 30, 2011, 10:29:36 PM »
I just returned from surveying the National Guard ranges in Hilo. How many Big Island shooters would participate in NRA and CMP sanctioned National Match pistol competitions? I know of 2 shooters from Hilo that travel to Oahu to shoot Service Rifle. I know pistol shooters to be a different animal altogether.

General Discussion / 308 Win cartridge in a 270 Win Rifle = Boom
« on: July 04, 2011, 05:54:46 PM »
I surprised that no one has posted the incident at Koko Head Rifle Range this past Sunday. 2 shooters were injured and the rifle was destroyed. Do not place all your guns on the firing line with mixed ammo and watch the newbies carefully. I've seen people try to load 9mm in a 40 SW and 45acp, and 20ga into 12ga.

Firearms and Accessories / Pistol Target Setup
« on: June 09, 2011, 06:18:43 PM »
Only two 1"x4"x60"
Corrugated polyboard backing is stiff enough for use without crossmembers
Qwikclamp is used to hold frame in stand in case of heavy wind
Big ziplock bag holds targets, stapler, extra staples, and pasties.
Prevents getting yelled at for retrieiving stuff of the bench during ceasefires.
I hate it when I run out of staples and knowing my reloads are back in my truck.
