Saw this yesterday and this morning. Although it seems like it will break apart and just give us some rain, it is a good reminder to look over your stuff. I plan on hitting up costco and buying some water and charcoal, I should be fine with everything else.

You guys should keep an eye on this just in case it doesn't lose strength. I live inside a crater (Aliamanu Military Reservation), if this storm gets crazy and you need to run to high ground, let me know!

I love these storms, but I hate the damn prep work. Doesn't help when you have POS family members who watch you trenching around the house at 2am, and then ask you if you need help when they see you finish.

I go all LT Dan shrimp boat scene when we have tropical storms; hence the reason why I don't think the crack head neighbors havent tried to rob my house yet.

No one wants to rob the guy who parties in a lightning storm.

I love a good storm myself, just hate the extra work it can cause up at the windfarm... :(

One time back in the day when I was still in my 20s and all full of piss and vinegar,   me and some friends were out camping near lake shasta in cali and a thunderstorm just sort of popped up over the lake. Well, all my friends freaked out and went and hid in thier tents.  I denounced them as pussies, took thier bottle of bushmills  lit a massive bonfire out of driftwood and gasoline in the sand by the lake,  took a roll of tinfoil and made a big pointy hat out of it put it on, and proceeded to hollar dirty limericks and dance around asking to be hit... while lightning repeatedly struck a nearby 200' rock outcrop about a 1/4 mile away.  (The old addage that lightning wont strike the same place twice is bullshit... ol' thor/zeus/raiden really had a hardon for that crag that night, it got hit 3-4 times.)

Good times...

Beautiful morning in Hilo; not a cloud in the sky and the white observatory domes were visible top Mauna Kea.

Just about 4:30 PM the clouds started rolling in from the east.

Now it is overcast and rainy.

You don't live in Hilo do you New Guy?

Went to Sams and picked up some extra cases of water just in case.

No sir; family reunion over the weekend.

Returning to Honolulu on Sunday.

Nice.  Have a safe trip back. Thought I'd catch you at the HDF fun shoot.  Maybe next time. Dirtylikins brought everything but the 870 bull pup conversion and oh yeah, the kitchen sink. LOL.
