Tesla would have to show that their sales are down, but I think their sales increased during all of this. Not 100% sure.

Maybe since this guy is getting national non-fake news coverage, Pam will look into it.

I believe the car lots that were fire bombed probably missed more than a few sales.

But, i could be wrong.

Yes.

Seeming how he just keyed them, I won't hold my breath that he would be charged federally.

I don't know.  Seems a case could be made for being part of a plot to terrorize Tesla owners and sellers.  if sales decline due to their vandalism, who would Tesla sue for damages?  My first instinct would be to sue prosecutors who refuse to prosecute Tesla vandals but not for damage to other car brands.

if anyone would like to attend the silhouette meeting, it is this sunday at 1100 at the silhouette range. I'm sure they can use all the help they can get
I think they are going to elect officers and go over what the plan is to re-open

I'd like to nominate Ren.

Why did you automatically include "I didn't say anyone here was a die hard Trump Supporter" when Flapp never even mentioned it in the comment you quoted?  Did he say you said this in another post, that you didn't quote?

I said to EEF, "...you started attacking everyone you disagree with."

I guess he equates die hard Trump supporters with everyone he disagrees with.

Objectively speaking, of course.

You going to say the same thing if a TRO from an angry ex takes away your gun rights?

This wasn't a mistake by the way, the person provided sufficient proof and the judge still held him.

The cop had every reason to detain the driver after the man CONFESSED at the scene to being in the US illegally.

Is it your expert legal opinion that judges do not have to follow the LAW??

The state judge in Lopez-Gomez’s case this week verified his US birth
certificate and found no probable cause for charging him with crossing
into Florida illegally, court records show, but said she didn’t have
jurisdiction to release him because of an ICE hold, Akbar said.

Tampon Tim's staffer damaged multiple Teslas totalling $20K and the prosecution has declined to file charges.  Good thing there's civil court so insurance companies can try to get their money back (sarcasm).

Was that the state's prosecutor?  if so, he's not free and clear yet.

3 people face federal charges for Tesla attacks.
Are such acts domestic terrorism?

Quote
The Department of Justice announced charges Thursday against three
people it says are allegedly responsible for violent incidents targeting
Elon Musk's Tesla cars, showrooms and charging stations across the
country.

The Justice Department says three people — in Charleston, S.C.,
Loveland, Colo., and Salem, Ore. — are facing criminal charges that
carry a minimum penalty of five years and up to 20 years in prison for
a range of violent acts. They include using Molotov cocktails to set fire
to Tesla cars and charging stations and possessing other "incendiary
devices" and a suppressed AR-15 rifle, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi
said in a statement Thursday.

"The days of committing crimes without consequence have ended,"
Bondi said. "Let this be a warning: if you join this wave of domestic
terrorism against Tesla properties, the Department of Justice will put
you behind bars."

Political Discussion / Re: "Constitutional Crisis"?
« on: Today at 12:50:27 AM »
Swoosh. It was a rhetorical question for you. The point was that he didn't get to cross examine the accuser.

As for the tattoos, I have seen this photo up everywhere held up as proof of his gang membership. I think there is no doubt he did have these tattoos, but I haven't seen where marijuana, a happy face, a cross, and a skull somehow translate to MS13.

What point?  That you are wrong and won't admit it .... again!

The point is, you are pretending the rules of evidence in an immigration case are the same as in a criminal trial.  I doubt you knew that, but let's move on.

How would cross-examining the accuser have changed anything?  He still needs to prove what the accuser said was false.  He already admitted in official court proceedings that he's a citizen of El Salvador, that he entered the US illegally, and he'd made no effort since arriving over a decade ago to resolve that status.

Whether or not he's an active and willing member of MS13 is also not the issue (see above immigration status).  But, he's also been arrested for beating his wife while in the US.  He's got MS13 tats he and his wife tried to hide when having pictures taken.

This is not a case the Left should have tried to use against Trump.  Now they (you) just look uninformed and stupid.

Tim Pool was invited to attend a WH press conference, and he used his time to call out the main stream corporate press and their perpetuation of this "Maryland man" hoax they are all parroting, even though the man is a citizen of another country in which he was BORN!

Then why bring up the point that not being convicted doesn't mean he never committed a crime?  You said it is a weak argument that he had no sort of criminal record. Obviously not having a record doesn't mean you are innocent but it sounded like you putting the burden of proof on him to prove the accusation of gang membership wrong. His argument doesn't have to be strong unless the prosecution had first made a good case of his gang involvement.

How do you know what he is afraid of?
So, you can't show mw where i said that, correct?

Then you must be dealing in straw man arguments again -- trying to bicker over something I never said.

So a TRO blocking you from owning a gun for a while is a huge constitutional violation but arresting a citizen for being an illegal alien, no biggie?

Show me where I made a mountain out of it. I posted a news story in a neutral manner, stop trying to make it all about you.
I was commenting on how the people who wrote the article made it into something much bigger than it is.

You're so vain, you thought my comment was about you.  Everything has to be about you, doesn't it?
13
I didn't say anyone here was a die hard Trump supporter. Is this an admission by you?
You didn't do anything to defend his tariffs, just complained that I pointed out some people will blindly justify them.

The topic is support levels for his tariffs. Pointing out there are people who will justify the tariffs regardless of how good or bad it turns out is part of that. You talk of democrats who did such things about Biden, now you are upset I say there are MAGA people who would do the same for Trump?

Since almost 80% of the people voting on your poll agree 100% with the tariff's, i'm sure you are lumping most of that number into your "people who will justify the tariffs regardless of how good or bad it turns out."

True, or not?
14
So you, like a bully, want to hit me but suggest I have virtue when I hit you back. How convenient for you.

Words are not violence.

Get a grip.

Donate? They've been charging users for decades. In addition to all that brass they sell at the gun show and sell at recyclers, that part of the range was supposed to sustain itself.

They feed you, too, don't they?

The silhouette range isn't the only activity that charges for use.  MPPL competitions in the open bays, skeet/trap, etc.

Nobody's twisting your arm.

Heard going to need new steel targets, hope they set up Donation page.

Since "they" decided to ban steel targets from the rifle range, I imagine there are many who have steel targets just gathering rust we could donate.

Maybe start an AR500 drive to collect donated targets?

Yeah, like we should have relied more on our manufacturing and technical services ?
But I could never understand why agricultural never took top billing with our year round growing season.
Don't say its cuz we gotta ship overseas, were doing that from other countries already.

I too am now retired,(from the tourist industry due to the VR thing) but would love to have continued working.
I know many others who managed, cleaned, landscaped or repaired many of these property's who were put out of work waaay before retirement, I was lucky as well as prepared.
VR owners I knew took care of their property's to make them more desirable.
That's painters, plumbers, electricians, carpenters, pest removal and such now also with less work.

Don't want to hear "but they took housing from residents".
Unless you were able to afford one of these multi-million $ homes, no loss
If you coulda, ya woulda.
Mind you I did/do not agree that "affordable homes" should not be used as VR's

Take a look at how less visitors and tourism dollars have affected the state and unemployment rates in the past 3  years due to the VR laws.
Below you see almost a million less visitors and a couple Billion dollars 2022-2024

2024:
Visitor Arrivals (January - August): 6.4 million
Visitor Arrivals (January - November): 8.78 million
Total Visitor Spending (January - November): $18.64 billion
2023:
Total Visitor Arrivals: 9.64 million
Total Visitor Spending: $20.78 billion
2022:
Total Visitor Arrivals: 9.23 million
Total Visitor Spending: $19.70 billion

Earlier years show even more but hard to find

JMHO (tho somewhat opiniated )

An economy is a complex animal.  it's important to identify the top 3 sectors in an entire state that can make or break the economy.

In our state, there are about 129,000 government employees.
In leisure and hospitality, there are about 123,100 employees.
Trade, Transportation, and Utilities accounts for 116,900 employees.

Those are the top 3 categories in terms of employment numbers.  Given that government only spends our money and doesn't generate any revenue, maybe we need to reevaluate how this state is being run economically.

Political Discussion / Re: They ran out of fake news to report
« on: April 22, 2025, 01:29:12 PM »
I tune into NPR every now and then in the car to see what BS they're spewing now. Today, it's about a smugglers boat and the captain abandoned ship. THey didn't say how. So the people being smuggled were in charge of piloting the boat and called for help.  NPR said that they think that the responding fishermen were probably afraid of helping because they didnt' want the Greeks (closest nation) to think they were doing the smuggling.

It's almost like NPR is an entertainment source of stories and not news.

In the 1990s, when CNN Headline News aired on cable non-stop with a repetitive 30 minute show containing the top stories (hence the name "Headline News"), everyone was hooked.  No matter what your schedule was, you could tune in and see the top stories at that moment including politics, sports and weather.  If you missed something you wanted to see, just wait 30 minutes and probably get a chance to watch again.

Then they went to a full 24/7 CNN programming effort where they offered full length stories and discussions.  The problem they discovered is there's just not enough new stories of interest to fill a 24 hour news cycle.

So, they started interspersing segments that were more opinion or non-news content to fill in the day for those who didn't want the same stories repeated every hour.  Ted Turner labeled the channel "Infotainment" to describe the merging of news and non-news content in order to fill up a 24 hour broadcast day.

Unfortunately, people have gravitated more toward the entertainment segments, which quickly became the primary source for their "news."

Once FB and Twitter became massive, it was reported by studies that most people received their daily news content from social media as more people totally abandoned the Main Stream Media newscasts.

In order to compete, news agencies have to offer infotainment in some form.  If they don't, viewers/listeners will turn elsewhere.

i watched a woman's press conference on this.  One point she emphasized is how certain products from certain customers market one version to other nations without these dyes, and a different version for US consumers.  Many of the US dyes are created from petroleum components.

It's smart to have a spokesperson be the public face of RFK's efforts.  His vocal problems tend to interfere with his message, IMO.

National I.T. service provider day

I never heard of this, yet i was in I.T. since 1980 when i began my computer science program as a college freshman.

After researching, i found out this is not about the common definition of "service provider".  That normally applies to the companies which connect customers to the internet via TV cable, telephone lines, satellite connections, direct router-to-router connections, etc.

Instead, this proclamation celebrates all who provides businesses in particular with IT services, whether it's networking, computer system services installation and support, programming, website design, and of course the engineers whose constant upgrades transforms expensive hardware into doorstops and paperweights by rending them obsolete.   :geekdanc:
