Political Discussion / Re: Trump unveils drug price rules
« on: November 21, 2020, 10:03:07 PM »
“The most-favored-nation rule allows the US to piggyback on discounts negotiated by other countries -- since Congress has banned Medicare from negotiating with drug makers. Other nations typically pay far less for medications, in large part because their governments often determine the cost -- which runs counter to Republicans' allegiance to the free market system.

Though Trump has slammed socialist health care systems that exist in other countries and attacked his Democratic rivals for seeking to implement such a setup here, he has celebrated linking US prices to peer nations' lower costs.”

Most safes are time locked. They can add money but can't open the safe until a certain time like after hours when the doors are locked. Likely an inside job...

« on: October 08, 2020, 07:11:27 PM »
Not watched the show so forgive me. My understanding is that this was a dumbass gun control measure enacted in Cali where you need to use something pointy to eject the mag. The theory is that mass shooters will have to save a bullet so they can stick it in the mag button so they can load in a fresh mag. This will allow bystanders to tackle the idiot. Of course, how hard is it to change out a mag button, so again lawful gun owners having to do idiotic things to pander to the idiotic bureaucrats.

AFAIK, the regulations are very vague like not causing an endangerment to the public. What the fuck does that mean exactly? If you're neighbors hear gun fire, they may complain to HPD that they're in danger. You could always try running a chainsaw and tell the cops you're chopping wood. Just a suggestion...

Political Discussion / Re: Vote out Mike Gabbard
« on: October 08, 2020, 06:51:31 PM »
When we visited their offices in January, I visited Gabbard's office as he's my representative. I left the message that we support 2A and the office manager assured me that Gabbard is gun friendly. Later in the Senate meeting, he sat there and said jack shit when it came to voting the bills. Thank God for Favella. I marched back to Gabbard's office and told them how disappointed I was. There was probably some back channel politics going on with Rhoads but a promise is a promise. Sorry Mike, I voted for the Libertarian. I realize it's only a protest vote because he'll likely come back again next year. Maybe he'll support a bill for hemp ukuleles or something...

I saw a safe in the new costco ad booklet for this month
Bighorn for 549.00

I don't know if that's what you seek but it looks good and costs less than most guns nowadays

Starts 9/2 online only. Says "Room of Choice : Shipping & Handling Included".  :shaka:

General Discussion / Re: Steel hangers instead of chains for gongs
« on: August 31, 2020, 10:47:57 PM »
This has been my set up for the past year. I cut up 10' metal conduit into 3 40" sections (x2). One conduit goes through the eyelets and four used as legs. The screw in the middle keeps the gongs separate from each other.

I've used chain, hooks, and rubber tire strips. The problem with using bolts is they're a PITA to undo after the threads have been wacked around a bit. Gongs are like bells; they go thud after they've been cracked.

General Discussion / Re: Another humdinger - What if Biden wins?
« on: July 17, 2020, 04:06:00 PM »
There's always the Biden Defense. Shoot a couple shells into the air and watch them run...

The worst case scenario is that the Dems take both the WH and Congress, both parts. God help us then. Most Republican Senators have forsaken Trump and are hoping that voters split their vote. This year, there are 24 GOP Senators and 11 Dem Senators up for reelection so it's an uphill battle. There are no Hawaii Senators up for reelection. The Dems need 3 more seats to take the majority. If they do and Trump wins, it will be a non-stop impeachment hearing for the foreseeable future.

If Ginsberg doesn't make it, how fast can McConnell push through another conservative Justice?

I'm curious what Trump would do from 11/4 to 1/21 if he did lose? The 20th Amendment says that the President's term ends on 1/21 regardless. If there's no election, then Pelosi automatically becomes President. God help us.

If you're driving 5 mph over the speed limit in the left lane, the only law you're violating is speeding. There is no expemption for speeding in the left lane unless you're an emergency vehicle.

I've complained about rust in humid climates on other forums. The general advice was to use grease if not using it for a long period of time (months?), but you have to use detergents to clean it out before firing. I've since used Ballistol which is the best thing I've found for removing/preventing rust in Hawaii.
