How strict are the gun laws in Hawaii?
« on: March 21, 2019, 04:03:15 AM »
We are an AR-15 parts business based out of Florida https://www.spicetac.com/ and I have noticed that we do a good bit of business to Hawaii. I have to imagine that the gun laws there are not as strict as I would have thought.
Can anyone enlighten me on the laws regarding AR-15 type rifles etc?
Thanks.

Rifle wise, anything goes. They did try this year to pass an ASS. Weapon ban but it died early on.

Not strick persay about the kind of AR you can own, just that no SBRs.  But more a hassle.  Takes 3 trips to the police station to buy a new gun.  And ALL guns are registered at said police station.  You have to take the gun there and show it to them.

everything is (supposed) to be registered so if you have sudden drop off in sales its because of state wide confiscations.

We're in the top 5 gun restricted states.  Biggest limitation here is not having any concealed or open carry.  You can have most types of firearms here except for "assault pistols", full auto, and suppressors.

AND no standard capacity handgun magazines (10 round max). AND no electric guns (TASERs and stun guns). AND no "firearms" such as the Mossberg Shockwave. AND no bumpstocks or trigger cranks or other such "devices". I'm not gonna continue because it's too depressing...

I don't have any guns in Hawaii.  In my opinion anybody that obeys Hawaii
guns laws is an idiot and certainly not an American.

Three trips to HPD for a handgun, AR pistol build included - the magazine needs to be permanently attached or non detachable or something like that ???, which HPD or AG won't define. You can apply for a long gun permit, and pick up in two weeks if approved. That's good for one year and you can acquire all the long guns, no SBRs, (AR rifles and lower receivers) and shotguns you want. You need to register each one at HPD though.

I clicked because you asked. Same all rifle parts vendor at the same old prices. I noticed there's no free shipping to Hawaii.

OK, sounds semi-restrictive but not as bad as California. For some reason I would have thought it would have been closer to Cali-restrictive, glad to be wrong on that.

I'm the new guy here, so I expect to be flamed a bit.
But calibrate your flamethrower just a little? There is nothing SAME OLD about my - fairly new to the business - business/website.

Prices? On many items I have THE LOWEST prices on the internet. And those that aren't are very close.
Show me who is beating $52.99 SHIPPED on Raptor-LT charging handles https://www.spicetac.com/radian-raptor-lt-ambi-charging-handle-556/. We can't keep them in stock at that price.
Or on Ballistic Advantage barrels? Prices change all the time, but many of my barrels are often the lowest price available anywhere. https://www.spicetac.com/ar15-parts/ballistic-advantage-barrels/

Customer Service? With over 600 5-Star reviews, I have to let my customers say it for me: https://www.spicetac.com/reviews

Hidden Gem Of A Business; Best Price On Internet
I was looking for a Ballistic Advantage barrel for my .300 BLK build. I scoured the internet looking for the best price and discovered Spice Tac. It was the lowest price I could find after searching many, many vendors. No doubt, when I’m in need of something for my ARs, I’ll make Spice Tac my first stop. Easy to do business with and a quick turnaround. I highly recommend Spice Tac.
Clarence K.

Product photography? Glad you asked! Show me which of the Same-Old websites are doing 360 photography with their product images?
You can spin it and zoom in on it.

https://www.spicetac.com/radian-raptor-charging-handle-556/
https://www.spicetac.com/radian-raptor-lt-ambi-charging-handle-556/

Will be adding many more to the site as photography gets completed.

You can call me or SpiceTac a lot of things, but Same-Old with bad prices isn't one of them!

Finally, I ship free to Hawaii every day. All orders over $45 ship free and I have very few things under that dollar amount.

So, anyway, just a small business guy from Florida trying to get a feel for what's going on WAY over there in Hawaii!

Maybe I'll stick around and tell some flying stories and about the time I ferried a U-2 east across the Pacific at night, with radio failure and landed at Hickam. Hawaii never looked so good!

I get all my AR parts from White Oak
https://www.whiteoakarmament.com/

John Holliger's a smith and competitive shooter. He built my first real EIC upper.
He offers Wilson barrels that are chambered in house as well as Bartlein and Shilen barrels. Never had a problem shooting well with his Wilsons. His pinned rear sights were the standard in match sights.

That's awesome that you flew all those platforms but I don't see how that translates to ARs.

I've heard great things about the WOA barrels.
Flying stories are just for fun from a fun part of my life that not too many folks have experienced. But it was also the flying that took me to Hawaii for the first time and gave me an interest now, many years later, in what is going on there.
Great parts at great prices and great customer service is what I bring to AR parts.

with a lot of sales in Hawaii perhaps you should be a sponsor of this site and become a vendor
perhaps be an active part of our legislative challenges such as becoming a commercial member of HRA and HIFICO

Good suggestion, I will look into it.
I've always been an NRA Life Member and became a CRPA Life Member while living in California and seeing the 2A challenges they had there.
It is scary how the madness spreads though and now we are having our own 2A battles here in Florida of all places. There is a petition to get a ballot initiative going to ban AR type rifles in the state. Ballot initiatives are scary since they bypass the legislature and Governor entirely and just need a percentage of the voting public to check the YES box on voting day.
What was it that the price of liberty was supposed to be? Eternal vigilance? Yessir I think we are there.
