If it shoots 5.56, what's the point of getting one? I mean I understand the OG version as it's a different caliber.  Overpriced AR clone.

Unless they did some alternate tech like how the HK416 did with their DI system.  Too bad regular military units don't get the fancy stuff.  I saw a few MARSOC units using them.  History channel had a show on it a long time ago. Guy shot full auto and took out the BCG immediately and held it in his hand.  Was cool to the touch. Compared to the standard system at the time, the BCG lit a match.  He said with the cooler system, means less gunk build up. Which means less jams.

whoa!  yeah, it is expensive.  I only looked up the price now. 2500-2900.  that is a lot of $$
I only bought 1 complete AR, and 3 lowers and the same time.  then when I built my 1st AR, I thought I'd rather just build it myself, so I sold that 1 complete AR and have built a few more since then

even the Sig Spear in 308 is super expensive.  5000.  that's ridiculous.  I'd rather build that myself too

I shot a friend's POF AR which cost just over 2000 and it shot about the same as my home built AR which cost me about half the price to build and my trigger was better, and my AR is lighter too.  although the POF had ambi controls, but that doesn't matter to me so much and I could always upgrade mine if I wanted to, but I see no need for it for me right now

I thought the mil ones used a proprietary cartridge - the 277 SIG Fury.

This is why I was asking.  I don't understand because to get the same design for 556 or 308, is a waste of $ IMO.
