Yes, boots on the ground are still needed in the current US imperial proxy conflict in Ukraine, but they are not being used as similarly as in the 20th century. The Ukrainians have used their NATO trained army in massed attacks with little results. The Russians on the other hand have not utilized their infantry in the same way, but rather utilized massed artillery, conventional missiles, and drones strategically and tactically since the conflict began with better results.

Repealing the 2nd amendment isn't the same thing as banning all guns. You suspect that is their secret motive but the existents of moderates in gun rights opinions dispute that claim. I don't like their attempts but I don't resort to hyperbole to summarize them.
