Hey howzit!  I already moved here but found out about this too late.  So so busy with stuff but catching up now, just sent the mass emails about the SB9 and the HB I forget the number already.  Signed up for the BI Hunters group on FB too which is where I still spend an inordinate amount of time.  Hope to follow the firearms stuff more closely now.  Hope to go plinking again soon I brought some spinning targets with me  ;D  Just heard the Hilo range is kaput now.  That sucks!  I like the outdoors better anyways.  hmmm.  LOL

Aloha all - getting more settled in B.I. and catching up a bit here.  Yes many factions ie. I just learned about new FB group "Hawaii Sportsmen's Alliance" that we should reach out to join together.  I like the idea of the new non-profit org to concentrate collective efforts.   Many many gun owners here w/o representation as the independent spirit is alive and well!  That is a good thing but need to have them part of the group.  one couple didn't know much about the HRA.  so there's work to be done.

It ain't over till it's over and it's only just begun.
Aloha!

no illussions of becoming a farmer here, not going to happen in my old age so just for fun gardening.   I can see only the hardiest of plants/trees make it outside.  veggies are the most labor intensive and need special care to be successful.   best for you to eat and most expensive  and that is why we don't get them much from plate lunches and the like, only get the cheapest most worthless food/starches.  they could put 3 scoops of mac salad on the plate and I wouldn't eat more than half a scoop.  where's the beef indeed.  so avg lunch now close to if not $10 even fast food.  that just trips me out.

had the house painted.  bok choy ruined as didn't move the box.  que sera sera.

meanwhile aren't there a bunch of states now authorizing open carry.   seems we have zero traction on anything so far.

no worries these are just single plants in a pot for test.  I admit had some dreams of finding acreage and working it but the reality is not going happen.  so will leave behind only the hardiest of plants making it on their own now - 5-7 pineapple, lychee / rambutan I forget which I planted, the lilikoi, an orange tree and greenery (including all the noxious weeds haha!).  I started 2 little blueberry plants but who knows if will make it, so far so good.

What's the update for the white fly/powdery stuff?

not much.  the bell pepper is dead.  the Hawaiian chile plant struggling but still kicking.  the basil probably not last much longer either is getting tall skinny and sparse.  the bok choy still growing.  I don't like spraying chems on stuff going to eat.  I kinda' gave up on infected plants.  pineapple is kicking ass.  very hardy plants!

yeah what zippz said.  sometimes you have to argue with the counter folks but that's how I read it as well, as long as the gun is in a hardsided case it shouldn't matter if goes in soft sided luggage as hard case requirement already satisfied.

either way I recommend hard sided luggage too for double protection :)   Delsey makes the best / cost IMO.  go Ebags they have great deals.

have fun!

Yeah.  If one wanted beer growing up, it wasn't difficult to get.  If you were a guy and played HS sports, you had plenty of pressure opportunity to try beer.  I recall my first taste of beer was Kirin Ultra Dry and thinking how the hell to the old guys drink this stuff?!   ;D

haha! that's what I thought about green bottles so sour wtf!  but was fancy imported beer whoa   LOL
back in jr. high the fancy was mickeys big mouths.  was that on purpose gimick marketing to get us kids drinking I wonder now.

Any love for the stouts?  For a bit I was into beers you could chew.  LOL  Back when black and tans were all the rage.  But seriously was never a big beer drinker thus why am gravitating to the lighter stuff.

Yardhouse is a fun place!  Haven't been in years though.  How come we don't have roving G2Gs at da kine places lidat.  Would be fun :)

awesome plan I think you will do well especially with the portable mainland income.  that is the key I think as you've picked 2 of the most expensive islands to land on.  homesteading is quite the dream and I wish you GL!!!

costco and other stores is a big consideration for me too but above that is medical services (esp. as my wife and I age) and ultimately access to LifeFlight as well.

I like Nikon also, started shooting with a D200  (well actually it was a Canon AE-1P but that was a shit ton of years ago and followed by a never ending slew of pocket cams)  then upgraded to a D300..  If you get into it you will spend way more on glass than the camera body and the prices will shock you LOL   So not knowing your budget and falling back on entry level/being frugal I'd suggest starting with that D200 used / refurbed for a couple-three hundred off amazon.  and get a nice fast 50mm prime lens. great camera setup for not a lot money!  after that then you can dream about bodies that are couple grand and up as your skills improve.

my new cut to the chase cam is a Lumix LX-100 and it's a little wonder :)   so don't count out smaller format cameras too.

Former Intel Officer Suspects Foul Play in Death of Antonin Scalia
February 15, 2016
by Paul Joseph Watson

A former U.S. Army intelligence officer who had a top secret clearance suspects foul play in the death of Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.

“The circumstances surrounding Supreme Court Judge Antonin Scalia’s death are growing more suspicious by the minute,” writes Ray Starmann, who worked in Army intelligence for eight years before becoming a journalist.

Starmann points to the fact that the story appears to keep changing, with initial reports that Scalia had died of a hear attack later denied. He also questions why no autopsy was performed and why Scalia’s body was quickly embalmed, “erasing any chances for the coroner to conduct efficient toxicology tests.”

“The same people who want you to believe Scalia died of a heart attack or natural causes are the same people who want you to believe that Hillary won the Iowa Caucuses with six coin tosses and the same people who want you to believe after fifty years that Lee Harvey Oswald was the lone assassin of President Kennedy,” he writes, adding, “Of course the MSM has reported on none of this. Even Fox News refuses to cover the strange occurrences in Texas.”

Starmann even suspects that reports of Scalia having a pillow over his head when he was found dead could represent a message being sent in the style of The Godfather.

“Luca Brasi sleeps with the fishes. The pillow over Scalia’s head wasn’t put there by a Hispanic maid. The pillow over the head is a warning,” he writes.

Now that Scalia is gone and likely to be replaced by a leftist activist judge, Starmann fears that the constitution is about to be eviscerated.

“Scalia was the tie breaking judge, the man who could push back any liberal policies being shoved through the court. With Scalia’s death, the Obama Administration or a future Hillary Clinton Administration has a green door to confiscate guns, flood the country with illegals and wreck the Constitution,” he writes.

As we reported earlier, suspicion surrounding the circumstances of Scalia’s death continues to build, with a poll showing 79% of over 40,000 respondents believing there was foul play.

In a related development, William O. Ritchie, former head of criminal investigations for D.C. police, wrote that he was “stunned that no autopsy was ordered for Justice Scalia”.

“How can the Marshal say, without a thorough post mortem, that he was not injected with an illegal substance that would simulate a heart attack,” asked Ritchie.

“Did the US Marshal check for petechial hemorrhage in his eyes or under his lips that would have suggested suffocation? Did the US Marshal smell his breath for any unusual odor that might suggest poisoning? My gut tells me there is something fishy going on in Texas.”

again we may never know the truth.

http://www.redflagnews.com/headlines-2016/what-justice-scalia-told-his-security-before-dying-may-have-changed-everything

Conservative Tribune

A statement issued by the U.S. Marshals Service on Sunday, a day after Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia died while at a ranch in Texas, had many wondering whether his death could have been prevented.

“The U.S. Marshals Service routinely coordinates with the U.S. Supreme Court police to provide security for the Justices, however, Justices may decline USMS protection,” the statement read, according to CBS News. “In this instance, the USMS detail was declined for the personal trip to the hunting resort in Texas, so USMS personnel were not present at the ranch.”

It continued, “Deputy U.S. Marshals from the Western District of Texas responded immediately upon notification of Justice Scalia’s passing.”

According to The Washington Post, however, Presidio County Judge Cinderella Guevara pronounced Scalia dead of natural causes — though she did so without ever seeing the body or ordering an autopsy.

Instead, she relied on testimony from law enforcement agents, who assured her “there were no signs of foul play,” as well as testimony from Scalia’s physician, who claimed that the justice had died from a buildup of several chronic conditions.

She also took into consideration testimony from John Poindexter, the owner of the ranch where Scalia died.

Poindexter explained that Scalia’s behavior the night before was normal, with the justice having gone with a group to hunt blue quail and then later attended a private party. Everything seemed fine until the following morning, when Scalia never showed up for breakfast.

But when Poindexter went in to check on the justice, everything again seemed normal, save for the fact that Scalia could not be awakened.

“Everything was in perfect order,” he said. “He was in his pajamas, peacefully, in bed.”

From the initial sounds of it, Scalia did indeed die of natural causes. However, the question remains: If U.S. marshals had been on the scene, could Scalia’s death have been prevented?

Please share this story on Facebook and Twitter and let us know what you think about the odd circumstances surrounding Justice Scalia
