CORONA LOAD
« on: May 17, 2020, 08:56:20 AM »
 Got the chrono out to test some polymer reloads and compare to factory loads.
Using "friends" Sig P226 (4.4"  barrel),   GL 17  (4.48'' barrel),  GL 17  (4.48'' barrel w/ comp) and  GL 19 (4.01" barrel)       ::)

   Hogden says I should be getting 1075 fps w/3.9 gr and 1151 fps  w/ max 4.3 gr w/ 4" barrel.with 115 gr LRN and TiteGroup.
I'm using 4.0 gr so I should be around 1094 fps.
Test with 4.4+" barrels
comparable    115 gr  Seller Beloit  1140-1170  fps
comparable     147 gr Remington Golden Sabre 968-999  fps
Reload 116 gr polymer LRN w/4. TiteGroup   1200 fps     :D

 Test done using GL 19 (4.01" barrel) all fps was about 30-40 fps less than above but reloads still faster w/ less powder as per Hogden

    The polymer coating adds 1 gr weight but because it fits a bit tighter in the brass, I'm getting a bit more (100 fps) "oomph".
50-75 fps ain't much but thoughts ?  :-\
