I use magnet I use for welding it has no and off switch. Works great I got it at Gaspro. Or you can use a magnet in a ziplock

The ss pins are not pure ss  so the magnet work stick.

All stainless steels have some iron in it, so even the corrosion resistant 300 series alloys in very small pieces may be able to be picked up with a magnet. The stronger 400 series alloy stainless steels, like 416 which many stainless steel barrels and knife blades are made of, have a high iron content and will stick to a magnet almost like steel. Try it.

the price for scrap SS non metallic  is about $1.00 lb , compared to magnetic SS at $0.12

had a commercial SS microwave scraped and only got $2.00 for it. the exterior  was magnetic.
