Howdy,
Boy is that an Old photo.

Sorry this Good Bye is a little late.

My kidneys  have failed and dialysis isn't  working.

I am in a home hospice program.

Several years ago, the Wife & I made the Decision  and left Hawaii for Hill Country Texas.

We have Never looked back nor regretted that decision.

Texas has lots of room for people who love ttheir 2a freedoms.

We would urge you to leave Hawaii  and see what real 2A freedom is like.

Howdy,
Freedom for us is moving to Texas.
We have enough acreage that we can shoot off the back porch.
We just got ATF OK and got our Suppressor.
Shot that from the back porch.
Makes a 9mm almost bearable without protection.
22 are super fun and relatvely quiet.
Plus hunting is legal with license on our property.

Howdy,
We moved to Hill Country Texas several years ago.
Yes we miss the weather & local foods.
Settled in Fredericksburg, it is a high end tourist location for Texas.
We have 10+ acres, enough to legally shoot any firearm legal in Texas.
We are just outside city limits.  To offset property taxes we have cattle on ours which gets us a small tax exemption.
The people here are very nice & Welcomed us.
Everyone we know are gun owners.
Many women we know have permits to carry & do carry.
We are 90 minutes from Austin and San Antonio.
Next clostest town is 30 minutes drive.
Down side is major medical facilities are in Austin or San Antonio.
Weather can dip below  freezing but last short while.
Home costs vary with area & acreage.
No place is perfect, but where we are is a lot better than where we were in Hawaii.
Our nearest neighbor is 200yds away.
No complaints about our shooting in back pasture.
Texas is a Very Big State.
Has a place for you, you just have to look for it.

General Discussion / Guns & Ammo

Howdy,
If you folks are looking for Guns & Ammo

Check out Classic firearms.

I get a lot of e mails from them advertising all kinds of guns & ammo

at what seems to be reasonable prices.

I'm happy with them so far, couple days to a week plus isn't too long for me to wait to get what I ordered.
5
Moved all our guns to a state with no registration.
Did not tell HPD.

Howdy,
I would be very cautious about moving to Las Vegas.
Or any place in Nevada.
My friend in Nevada tells me that it is becoming Liberal  and has recently
passed anti 2a legislation.
We have been to LV and we didn't like it.
Wife has sister in Austin, she and several others reccomended
Texas Hill Country.
We went to Texas to check out Hill Country.
Fell in love with small town Texas.
We ended up in Fredericksburg, best small town in Hill Country.
I think living in a small town beats city living anytime.
Homes with acreage is much cheaper than getting  a nice
place in LV, especially if you like to shoot by opening your back door.
Surprisingly, small towns have lots of things to do and special events.
If I was thinking of moving, look at Texas Hill Country.
Two of my best friends  stayed with us last month.
Both told us that If they could swing it,
they would move to Hill Country.
Just suggesting an alternative  to LV.

Howdy,
Sold our nice Kailua home.
We moved to a small Texas town(11,000+ pop).
Our new town is Clean, No homeless.
All the folks we've met Welcomed us to Texas.
We have enough land so we can shoot almost anytime anything we want.
So far we haven't met any anti 2a people.
Everyone we meet is Pro 2A, many have CC permits and do carry.
Never met so Many gun toting women like here.
We're less than 10 minutes from hospital, super market and Wal Mart.  Big box stores are 25 miles down the road.
The county road in front of our place is better than King St in front of Honolulu Hale.
Police I've  met are pro 2A and will talk guns if they have time.
Nothing like being in a nice hotel restaurant and seeing lots of LEOs having their  meal break.
Some smaller  town LE carry well worn 1911s in nice leather.  Definitely  ones Not to get into gunfight with.
Love the smell of country air after a rain.
We're  glad we were able to make the move from Hawaii to a politically  incorrect  Pro 2A environment.
Texas has lots of room for folks who are willing to accept it's  lifestyle.
Remenber, you have to change to Texas way of life.

Howdy,

It's because of stuff like this that we moved to a gun friendly state:  TEXAS
All the new friends we have are Pro 2A and are gun owners.
We have enough land that we can shoot off our back porch.

IF any of these "ideas" go thru,  we just might be in for the Second Civil War.....

General Discussion / Re: Why are/aren't you a member of the HRA
« on: September 05, 2017, 09:35:22 PM »
Precisely the Reason the Wife and I LEFT Hawaii.

The majority of gun owners We have met and talked to have little or no interest in joining the HRA

Many are millennials with a "ME" attitude.

They're not in it for the long run, instant gratification.

Given the number of guns Registered,

there "should" be enough New gun owners who "should" join the HRA and inject new blood and money.

But they don't.

Some I have talked to don't see anything wrong with registration, rap back etc.

They do Not see it as an erosion of their "Rights"

or they just don't CARE enough.

Since we have been in Texas, No One we have met are anti 2A.

The Texas Rangers, Game Wardens and police we've met are ALL Pro 2A.

When told about things in Hawaii, their response is "NOT here in Texas",

We live outside City Limits but still in town.

We hear gunfire all the time. (Sept 1, Opening Day dove season)

Guns are Sold openly at flea markets.

Wife and I will be going to 2 gun shows one week apart in the same town.

The only time a gun is "registered" is if bought from a FFL/Dealer.

NO Registration on Private face to face sales.

While back, Governor of Texas has told Feds to keep out of Texas.

Texas gun owners have Political Power.

If you want to move to Texas, We will Welcome you.

Yes, this can happen in Hawaii, I believe the legislature has passed a law that allows for it.

Glad we are now in TEXAS

Complete set up cost owner $19,ooo at estate sale.

He has Several Full Auto MGs

I am on my way to getting at LEAST 2 suppressors and 1 full auto something.

Wife and I LOVE Texas.

Lots of people willing to help me set up my range after we close on property.

Texans we have met are Confident and Self Reliant, Can Do Anything folks.

Here in Texas,

Open Season

No Limits

or so I have been told by my new gun owning friends

Police, "Looters will be dealt with Harshly"

I have been told, "Do NOT mess with Texas Police"

Howdy Y'all

Well the Wife and I have taken the big step and Moved out of liberal Hawaii to a more gun friendly state.

We have moved to Texas where we are Welcome and are among family and new friends.

Our new home is in Hill Country.

We have enough acres to legally shoot any firearm legal in Texas.

We have deer and other game on our little slice of Heaven.

Best is we don't get the liberal Crap about guns like in Hawaii.

Every one we \'ve met is a gun owner or Very Pro Gun.

Town had a banner hung across Main St advertising "Friends of NRA Banquet"

Costs of living is much lower and the foods taste better than in Hawaii.

Bought the Wife a Ford Expedition King Ranch Special.

The furkids love to go riding in the back bucket seats.

The local Ford dealer Openly supports NRA in the show room.

Life is good now that we can Open Carry and shoot on our own private range.

Expect to shoot handguns out 300 + yards.

Sounds of FULL AUTO fire have been heard in the area.

Life is good in the Promised Land.

I think it's time the gun community do to Rhodes what they did to Rey Graulty.

In his hearing Graulty gave extra time to Anti 2A testifiers and cut off Pro 2A people at exactly 3 minutes.

Two people he cut off were Susana Gratia-Hupp, survivor of Luby's cafeteria in Texas

And My WIFE.

After that hearing HRA called for and got people out to PICKET Graulty's  fund raisers.

My WIFE never missed any of the fund raisers HRA Picketed.

She wore her best Mamo Howell muu muu in the Hot afternoon sun holding her sign.

she got her 30 seconds of fame on Chanel 2 news.

Even Mayor Fasi shook her hand as she was picketing.

Graulty did NOT get re-elected.

Rhodes represents KALIHI

Time to do a Graulty on him.

Slightly OT

A response to equating guns to cars is that gun owners should then have the SAME RIGHTS as car owners.

Our guns would be OK across the USA

No Limitations on capacity, just like no limitations on Horse power.

Open carry, concealed carry no limitations

If DUI people can keep their cars, so can gun owners etc.

Pull those arguments on them and see how they respond.

Remind them that automobiles are a Privilege Granted by Government and can be severely restricted by government with out due process.

Firearms are in the US Constitution, motor vehicles are not.

Legal and Activism / Re: Support for 2A Rally at Capitol
« on: January 05, 2016, 01:53:01 PM »
In a word POLITICS

A small group will be Lost in the crowd on Opening Day.

Will be competing with other groups that want to be heard.

Small showing may indicate to legislators looking that Majority of gun guys don't care.

If you're going to Rally, you want the stage to be yours.

Every one who said they will be there is a Guy.

The Last big HRA Rally at the Capitol I attended had Men, Women & Children show up.

Pick a day & time when Entire families can come.

Make sure to bring the Wife & Kids.

After all, a gun is an Equal Opportunity Protector.

In this day and age, Women and children are at risk.

The Rally should be for them.

I want the legislator to tell me to my face that Women and Children don't deserve Protection.

The Most Dangerous person is a Mother defending her family.

Legal and Activism / Voteing
« on: January 05, 2016, 01:22:31 PM »
During the last flurry of testimony on anti 2A legislation,

Many 100s of people testified.

To testify, you had to give your name.

Another old time HRA member went thru the entire list to see who he knew were HRA and other gun organization members.

He saw my name & testimony.  I got an e mail comment from him.

If people like him looked at the names,

you can bet the legislators do too.

Probably check to see how many Pro 2A people are in their district.

If 2a supporter's are a big # in his district, may give him second thoughts.

If you know gun owners who Do NOT Vote, this may be a good time to get them to register to VOTE.

2016 is an ELECTION Year.

If Every gun owner Voter Against Gun Control, Hawaii can see big changes.

Maybe there should be a Voter Registration table at the Range, Gun Shows and Shooting Fairs?

Remember, Hawaii has a very Low voter turn out.

Gun Owners CAN make a difference IF enough of them Voted.

If you Can't show me a voter registration card, STFU.

You have NOTHING meaningful to Contribute.

You're Moocher.

You guys know that this forum is Monitored by many people/organizations.

After my posting I got an email from another old timer who is, shall we say "politically savvy"

Opening Day is bad, may get lost in the crowd.

POOR turn out = weakness/poor support

May Piss off legislators.

You want a Successful Rally,

Get together with the HRA old timers who Picketed Rey Graulty's fund raisers and made TV news.

During the 90's at the height of the anti 2A legislation HRA got almost 300 Men, Women & Children out to rally at the Capitol.

Pick the time & place to Rally Successfully.

Get Organized, do your homework.
