Preparedness and Survival / Re: Hurricane season 2026
« on: Today at 01:15:55 PM »
With the people complaining about closed stores, power outages, stores out of stuff, etc.  I wonder how they would get through an Iniki direct hit on Honolulu.

I don't know how people of Hawaii would handle a direct hit.  I think the other islands would be more resilient than Oahu people.

When the outages occurred we were reading the comments on the RING App that people were posting.

Aiee Soos.

My Garage Door Opener doesn't work.  All the on and off surges blew something, probably the low voltage transformer.

I know, 1st world spoil brat problems.

Oh yeah, my palm tree fell down but the roots are still intact.  I think I can re-plant it but it's heavy.

There are worst off people out there and here I am complaining about a door opener and a tree.

Oh, and I cooked rice on a butane stove and it overflowed.  Then I burned it. :D

Suzanna Gracia Hupp.

Locked up her gun she usually carries in her purse.  It was the law.

Gunman went on a killing spree in that cafe.  Her father rushed the gunman and got shot.  Her mother died at her husband's side, trying to comfort him as he lay dying.

One can only imagine what this daughter is going through.  Regret doesn't even begin to describe it.

I wonder how a person will feel if a loved one was severely injured or killed because he had his gun locked up in their vehicle while in these "sensitive" places.

I wonder how many people value their life and the lives of their loved ones over the stupid laws enacted by anti-2nd amendment politicians.

These politicians still don't realize that criminals do not follow the law.

I'm seriously questioning the reading comprehension of some of those commentors.

I'm not an expert in combat with firearms, but if I have decided to engage the gunman, I of course will be shooting to hit him.  But I will keep firing and firing as long as I am able to.  Even if I miss entirely, engaging him will deter him from focusing on trying to kill others.

Sustained fire will also save lives, even if you miss.

This from someone who never engaged in a live combat situation.  Take it for what it's worth.  I honestly feel that once I have decided to engage, this is how I would do it.

Whether I actually do or not will have to wait until it ever happens.  No one really knows how they will react once the bullets fly.

Below is a link to the YouTube video released today by the Twin Fall police dept.

It is surveillance video of pretty much the whole thing - and is a must watch.

This was a fiend - a cold-blooded murder.

Until you watch this, you know maybe 1% of what actually took place.

Without the active armed resistance three individuals (yes three), there's pretty much no limit (except for ammo) to how many innocents he would have murdered.

At one point he was even running around firing into cars stuck at a traffic light, wounding some more.

THIS IS WHAT THE "NO GUNS" MONSTERS WE HAVE HERE WANT FOR YOU AND YOUR FAMILY.

Thanks for sharing this.  That employee that engaged with him must have been shittin his pants but was very courageous.

Amazing that he lasted that long, being it Idaho of all places.

Who's paying for these dumb ass "just so they can have a job" ideas?

Better not be my tax dollars.

Here's a thought:  Best conservation method is to leave the animals alone.  And get a real job.

What was the motive of the gunman and his beef with the new InNOut restaurant?

Because this place originated in California?

I know Idahoans are pretty hostile to newcomers from blue states.

Raising the age limit will prevent them from being tossed from the bed of a truck?

I don't think it worked.

Maybe raise it to 70 or something.

Yeah.  That'll do it.

I don't want kamala to disappear from the public's eye.  I want her to always be there.  Front and center.

I need more laughter in my life.
