25th Annual Shooting Sports Fair (June 16 & 17 at KHSC)
« on: June 04, 2018, 02:22:34 PM »
It's that time of year again.  Less than two weeks away.  Father's Day weekend and usually see a lot of families coming out an enjoying the shooting sports together.  Plenty of opportunities to volunteer as well.

I'm bringing my dad.

My mom wants to come too, but she's one of those "umbrella aunties".  So IDK.

I'll be on Handguns.
"The rifle is a weapon. Let there be no mistake about that. It is a tool of power, and thus dependent completely upon the moral stature of its user. It is equally useful in securing meat for the table, destroying group enemies on the battlefield, and resisting tyranny. In fact, it is the only means of resisting tyranny, since a citizenry armed with rifles simply cannot be tyrannized."

Cool.  Will be a great way to spend Father's Day with the family.  Hope your mom comes out and finds that she enjoys the shooting sports as well.  There's usually not much space to hang out and cruise in the shade, so maybe an umbrella and a beach chair.   ;D

I signed up for ARs & AKs, but I usually never know where I'll end up until Sat morning.

How's the traffic on FB looking?

SSF is this weekend.  There's a range clean up session this Friday for another opportunity to volunteer.  If you want to volunteer, please email HRA or hit me or Drakiir up and we'll point you in the right direction.

Mac - Does HDF have a tent again this year?

It's a really fun weekend that supports the local shooting community.  Plenty of opportunity to try many different firearms in a rare opportunity in Hawaii to try before you buy.

What are the age requirements for the event? Wanted to take the family but unsure if my 6 year old can attend.

I believe they can certainly attend, just a matter of if and what they can shoot.  I'm not positive, but I believe 6 yo is BB only.  Not sure what the cut off age is for .22 lr.  I believe partially KHSC rules as well as even rules.

Hey Drakiir - Any info on this?

The coolest kid obviously.  And yeah, always need people at handguns, especially individuals with knowledge about firearms that can streamline customers into shooting what they want to shoot.  Believe it or not, a decent amount of our volunteers love supporting the 2A without having that much knowledge about guns.

Range setup tomorrow starting at 11 am I believe.  I'm planning on heading out there in the afternoon.

I haven't seen the volunteer list, but we can always use volunteers.  While experience with firearms is great, there's plenty of opportunity to help out if you don't or for those who have significant others, kids, etc who don't have experience with firearms.  This is actually a pretty good opportunity for a first experience as there will be dozens of firearms instructors as well as a wide variety of firearms to try.

Do you have an estimate script price per rifle?  This way I know how much cash to bring.
