Aloha shoyu got the 55 gal drums. Just picked up 4. Call em up. It's $30/ea and they clean em out for u. Most of em were used to store vinegar so it's not poisonous.

Good deal, thanks for sharing that!

I found a few food-grade drums on Craigslist a while back, I think is was $25 a piece, power washed.  But I'd pay the extra for the assurance from a big company that it was previously only used for food.

Both. I picked up 2 white 2 blue. But there were only a few blue ones left and the ones that were, they were buried under the stack. Yeah, there were stacks of em.

A place in pearl city industrial park has the blue food grade 55 gal drums as well.  They stored soap in them so just wash it out.

Does anybody know if they still get drums and could one of you tell me what they measure across the top? I realize the post is a year old. Just checking. Also, are the drums lined or bare metal?

Grainger has stainless steel drums, but they cost more than my first car. You'd be better off putting a food grade poly liner in a used drum that's been cleaned out or just stick with plastic.
