Alternative is to take an hdf pistol class to work on drills, take my meet up class for pistol manipulations, then do the HPS or mppl 101 course.

Thanks for the info. Taking a class in January was actually on my to-do list. See on Fb that the class listing only goes through Dec. I'll keep an eye out here for updates.

After my 14 day wait for the handgun permit went in yesterday with about 5 people in line and out in less than 45 minutes. Question: for a private handgun sale do I need to have the person selling it to me meet me at the police station to give me the firearm or is he just supposed to sign the form and mail it in?

Was there today, July 16, to apply for a handgun permit at about 12:30. There were two in line and two inside waiting. Put an hour in the meter downstairs and had 26 minutes remaining. Super smooth. THANK YOU to all for posting your experiences and how-to's. This was my first time applying and I learned a lot from this post. One thing I forgot, though, was to have an application for EACH handgun (I had only filled out one application but had two handguns) so I had to redo by hand. All the tips from all of you were right on. I had the exact change (16.50), hunter edu card, and all else required. Again, big MAHALOS to you all! Aloha!
