Pistol Caliber Carbines - Discuss
« on: February 13, 2020, 10:18:51 AM »
Let's discuss pistol caliber carbines.

I've shot them quite a bit, but haven't seriously considered getting one myself.  However, a couple of recent developments has me looking at them closer.

Right now, the SIG MPX is lead in interest with an AR based PCC would be next.  I've heard good things about JP's PCC.  I read up a little on the CZ Scorpion, but sort of turn off by what I read so far.

Isn’t that only SBR? MSRP of $2200-2300 isn’t  :shake:

I haven’t looked into things in a while, but I heard Noveske isn’t what they used to be.

Looks like a lot of the local shooters are using the MPX.

I tried it out the other year, but lost interest. I bought the parts to convert an AR to shoot 9mm. I think the Angstadt buffer kit I got wasn't doing a good job because it kicked pretty hard. From what I read, a heavier buffer would've done the trick.

I've spent the last couple of years thinking about getting one but I've decided against it.
"The rifle is a weapon. Let there be no mistake about that. It is a tool of power, and thus dependent completely upon the moral stature of its user. It is equally useful in securing meat for the table, destroying group enemies on the battlefield, and resisting tyranny. In fact, it is the only means of resisting tyranny, since a citizenry armed with rifles simply cannot be tyrannized."

I was turned off by the price of the MPX, but expanding the search now.

How about a beretta cx4!  Can share mags if you have a compatible pistol, beretta 92/96, px4, etc..  Similar controls to a pistol.  it’s very compact and maneuverable.  One of my favorite guns in the collection.  Downside is the mag capacity due to our 10 round limit.  Also some people don’t like the styling of it.  I think you need to try it to really appreciate how great of a gun it is.

Is there something wrong with an SBR? I happen to like the PCC as an SBR. It makes a lot of sense to me as an SBR. I think it looks pretty cool, too. You didn’t say we couldn’t discuss models we cannot buy here.

I don’t know about Noveske today? I have an older Noveske Infidel and it is amazingly accurate and reliable.

Another PCC I think is worth looking at is the Ruger PCC Takedown. The takedown format makes sense to me for a PCC like the SBR makes sense to me.

I want to look at the Sig as it is a delayed blowback format. Not sure but can the Sig be had in an SBR format? That sounds like the perfect PCC to me.

No one is coming, it’s up to us.

Legislation should never be about depriving law abiding citizens of something, but rather taking those things away from criminals.

Been eyeing this beauty for a couple years now...

As an AR trainer, I don’t think anything else can beat this. You can get the upper and Pmag inserts shipped direct.

Ahh, yeah. I remember that now. $2600 is pushing it, but not out of the realm of possible. 🤔

One of the guys uses that Magpul insert thing for PCC matches. It seems to work well and it isn’t expensive.
