Firearm Training Videos (online)
« on: March 27, 2017, 02:06:23 PM »
This thread will be for firearms training lessons and videos on the internet that you can learn fundamentals and techniques from.  Dry practice at home ensuring an unloaded firearm.  Most of your learning and training is done off the range and  live fire on a range confirms what you have learned and trained for.

Post video channels that you have used and recommend to others.

I'll update and organize it as I find stuff.

I checked out the Springfield Armory youtube channel, https://www.youtube.com/user/teamspringfieldusa/videos, and found some good videos on it.  I found a few Gun Myth videos that can help some people with their pistol shooting

And also their new Night of the Saint videos (thanks Daniel) which is a women's mini Topshot competition.

BREAKING: YouTube Gun Channels In Danger Of Disappearing Forever
-- The Firearm Blog (TFB)

Quote
In an unannounced move, it appears that YouTube has pulled all ads from gun related videos. You might be thinking that is is a good thing
and are happy about the decision, but you would be wrong. Thanks to the removal of any revenue that creators use to cover costs and
even make a living, YouTube gun channels are in danger of disappearing forever.

Even our own channel, TFB TV, is in grave danger if the new change sticks.

While some gun channels will be able to sustain themselves through services like Patreon, channels like ours that have a small Patreon
support base will suffer greatly. This means content could be reduced quite a lot, creators will move on and no longer devote the time to
making videos for you to enjoy, and the big YouTube gun guys that rely on it for a living will either have to find another way to create the
income to pay their bills or even cover the costs associated with filming.

What can we do about it? Nothing really. Sadly Google makes their decisions and sticks to it. What you can do is support your favorite
content creators through whatever donation site they are a member of.

You can find the TFB TV Patreon page here: http://www.patreon.com/tfbtv

Please consider visiting our Patreon page and pitching in a buck or two a month so that James, myself, and the rest of the TFB TV crew
can keep the videos coming like you have become accustomed to regardless of what Youtube decides.

Added the USCCA training videos for self defense.  They have a wide variety of videos on drills and scenarios that makes you think "that's something I should think about and practice".

It's good to go through scenario practices with other people or just by yourself at home with a finger gun.

A sister channel to ASP, the Extras goes over recommendations on defensive training techniques and equipment decisions.  Good food for thought.

This is a good video on analyzing if you are ready for a CCW defensive situation.

Haven't visited this thread for a while, thanks for the suggestions.  I'll look through em.

Here's another good channel I've been watching, lots of short videos on self-defense tactics, equipment, and training techniques.

Warrior Poet Society

This video got me thinking about putting off those trigger upgrades.  I usually keep my guns stock.  Trigger upgrades are cheaper now and some are easy to install.  A lot of new shooters are getting guns with trigger mods installed and I think he has a good point where people use mods as a crutch for correct trigger technique instead of proper training.

Could be because I haven't been around that long, but I haven't seen any videos posted on this forum in regards to the fundamental safety rules. I'm quite fortunate to have had teachers tattoo these rules into my brain ('quite painful I'm afraid'), but I've seen these rules broken on a couple of occasions...definitely made me 2nd guess where I was.

This guy only has these two instructional videos but I've never seen anyone go that in depth in explaining grip and reloads.  Lots of good points.
