They also have a new version of the Firearms application...I imagine that threw a curveball to some folks.

Good to also know the format (gif, jpeg, png, ...) and file sizes.

I never upload to the forum.  I upload to a free image storage site (cloud account) like imgur.com, and post the image's associated link. That not only uploads easier for me, I can edit the file size, crop the image and perform other changes.  When I paste the link, instead of a thumbnail inside my post, I get the actual image displayed inline with my comment.

This also helps prevent the forum's server from hitting its storage limit with a bunch of large files uploaded, which is one cause for being unable to post images.

Yeah, I think I'll just end up using imgur until it's sorted out.

For the record, I was attempting to upload jpgs anywhere from 0.5-2 MB. I'd guess the server is out of space since it almost instantly returns the error, but pure speculation on my part. Thanks Flapp  :shaka:

What are you using?  TapaTalk, Brave, Chrome, Safari, FireFox?.  Tablet, phone, computer?

Some have reported this problem with TapaTalk, but were able to use a PC or Mac web browser.

Using Brave, tried on mobile and PC. haven't run into this prior to yesterday, but will try a diff browser later

Technical Support / unable to attach pics?

Anyone else having trouble attach pics to posts now? Gives me the error:

An Error Has Occurred!
Your attachment couldn't be saved. This might happen because it took too long to upload or the file is bigger than the server will allow.

Please consult your server administrator for more information.

The pics are <1MB each, so maybe something server side?

General Discussion / Re: New CCW/ apps/ process is up on HPD site

What happened to the roughly 600 applications prior to their rule changes?

No law has been changed. The requirements were already in place. Are we all now denied?

Essentially, they say "we changed the process, so jump through these new hoops and then we'll process your application. If we don't hear from you in 90 days, we won't process it".

The HK P30 series would get my vote. Has great ergonomics, ambi controls and are very reliable. My only gripe is the trigger isn't great, but there are some aftermarket parts you can drop in to mitigate this.

I like it a lot. The DA/SA trigger takes some getting used to, but I'm getting used to it and I like it. I was thinking about getting the compact version or the P30SK in 9mm for carry.

Nice  :geekdanc: The Grayguns short reset kit improves the trigger, if you're considering upgrades for the HK45:

The P30SK is pretty great, maybe a little chonky for a ccw (~1.3" thick), but I like mine. I may consider swapping it for a P30L if I can find a thinner carry gun.

and bring the Ruger Mark IV Hunter and do some plinking. probably put a few hundred rounds through it   :shaka:

How do you like your HK45 so far? Been thinking about picking one up

General Discussion / Re: 13.7/13.5 vs 16
« on: July 23, 2022, 10:03:32 PM »
I like my 13.7, much easier to shoulder and maneuver than my 18" (don't have a 16" to compare).

But like the others have touched on, you're stuck with the muzzle device and gas system once you p/w. If you already have a 16", you have to decide if that inch and a half or so in length and a few oz in weight is worth the $

now, my complaint is the trigger
I like the concept of DA/SA with de-cocker hammer fired. but its long and heavy in DA.  and SA theres a long take up.  I'll get actual pull weight on my Lyman gauge later
but I can get used to it.  I think for a carry gun its a very good trigger.  I guess I'm spoiled from shooting 1911's can't really compare the 2, but overall I like HK45 trigger for its function and able to carry in different modes

for a large size semiauto, I really like it.  I'm sold on HK.  If I see a P30 at a store, I would seriously consider it
this would make a good home defense gun, or open carry gun, or duty gun

Is the long SA take up an HK thing? Even the P30 has quite a bit of slack in SA.

The HK45 or 45C was next on my wish list, but I'm tempted to get a 22 first  :-\

General Discussion / Re: Ammo at SE.
« on: February 02, 2022, 07:21:24 AM »
Thanks pew, appreciate the info. :shaka:  Maybe I'll call and put myself on the list for .22 also.  I'll probably ask them about my status on the 9mm list.

Not sure exactly when I requested to be placed on the 9mm list, maybe last year around Oct./Nov.  Come to think of it, that's not too long ago.

:shaka: I think 9mm is available to walk ins, I asked and was able to grab a couple boxes. I think I was on the list too, but don't remember getting a call /shrug

Can people walk in to purchase .22 ammo?  Or were you on a list?  I'm looking for .22 ammo, particularly .22 LR Mini-Mags 40 grain round nose.

I was on the list, it looked pretty long so not sure if they'll take walk-ins yet. I think they said they'd hold some for me till tomorrow when they left a voicemail last Fri, so not sure if that means they open it up to walk ins tomorrow, or just call the next person on the list.

They didn't have 40 gr minimags (I was looking for those too), only the 36gr HPs. Bought a couple of bricks since I'm low, but didn't want to buy a case so others could get some too. I think I saw 40gr standard velocity, if you need any of those.
