FAQs / Re: Getting and registering a gun in Hawaii
« on: September 16, 2015, 08:21:07 PM »
Yo guys just wanted to Clarify the registration process of an instate  firearm portion
Once you've picked up your permit, you have 10 days before the permit expires and you HAVE to return to hpd within 48 hours after picking up firearm from the shop? Correct me if I'm wrong. Was told they recently changed it from 5 to 2 days to return and register .Thanks
For example would this be okay to do if the above is true?
Permit was picked up 9/14
Pick up firearm on Friday
Return to hpd on 9/21

So what about a 17rd mag casing by itself without the base pad and spring?
Okay to just send the casing?

General Discussion / Shipping a magazine to hawaii

Yo guys just want to play it safe here.
Was wondering if it's okay to have an ffl dealer and private dealer to send 10RD magazines directly to my home? Thanks

Thanks guys!
Yeah I'm definitely saving a whole lot buying from the mainland.
I took the class before so that part is good.
So @mauidog when you say the day the permit is ready, are you referring to the 14th or 15th day?
Also Is it possible to apply for permit for more than one gun on the same day?

Thanks bro clears up confusion
So about the 2 week thing,
What's the window like as far picking up the permit. I know it says specific dates and times. but is there a deadline when picking it up? Trying to plan it out cus my schedule is all over the place. Thanks

Need help guys.
So I want to purchase a handgun from an ffl dealer in the mainland and have it shipped to a local ffl dealer here on oahu
What is the process when doing all of this?
Do I
Purchase the gun from the Mainland FFL Dealer
Give the local ffl dealer the Mainland FFL Dealers info (fax number) to fax FFL License verification
Once that clears, Mainland dealer ships to local ffl dealer here on oahu and handgun is held in store.
Although once purchased, is receipt needed to bring to HPD or not?
Also what do i need from the Mainland FFL Dealer to bring to HPD?
If Receipt is NOT NEEDED, do i just need a piece of paper with all the handgun specs (barrel length, serial number, make, model, and caliber)?
Lmk fam, Thanks
