And the NRA-ILA....crickets.
Got a call from NRA to "up" our membership.
I asked him what nra has done for Hawaii amongst all of the recent "law changes/proposals".
He went on to tell me all of the good they are doing nationally.
I then informed him of all of these laws and proposals and let him know nra has been totally absent in our defense and that when nra starts supporting Hawaii gun owners, Hawaii gun owners will return to supporting nra.

"It's no different than if he sprinkles holy water at the entrance to bless his customers when they enter,"
But if an atheist/muslim walks in and gets "sprinkled", isn't that a violation of their unreligious/religious rights and he can't get immunity from liability simply because he claims religious beliefs?

I'd agree, but am most curious about what case studies are actually out there and would love to know who has actually gotten in trouble for it.
The hypotheticals are always interesting too.
Nobody here does anything illegal.

Which  rep/senator are on the committee ?

I appreciate the post, but we did post about this in the past few weeks and updated almost daily.

Rigth now there is no need to email your House/Senate rep as there are no floor votes.  When the bills get a hearing, someone will post here a new thread and to submit testimony.

Unless your rep/senator is on the committee, then emailing/calling them will be beneficial.

Correction, I was looking at my spreadsheets out of order.
In 18 months my BR stock has increased $7.04 per share.

I did not buy the stock, it was bequeathed to me and it is the second lowest amount of shares (3.3%) in my portfolio.
I know what BR does and have contemplated transferring $ elsewhere, I dislike them.
I do have a decently conservative portfolio which has accrued gains of $6,480 in those 18 months.
$637.18 was BR gains

SPEED HUMPS
According to the Hawaii DOT, it costs around $120,000 for each speed humps and raised crosswalks it installs.
National DOT Estimated cost
The cost for each speed hump is approximately $2,000. Speed tables are $5,000–$15,000, again depending on drainage conditions and materials used.
An online search found a 2018 study by the Institute of Transportation Engineers estimating the cost of a raised asphalt crosswalk or “traffic table” at between $2,500 and $8,000.
Another publication by the U.S. Department of Transportation estimates an asphalt traffic table should cost between $5,000 and $15,000.
I tried to access Hawaii DOT  (https://hiepro.ehawaii.gov/500.html) for contract but
"ERROR!  We are sorry there has been an error. Please try again. If you continue to get this error please call (808) 695-4620 for assistance."

VACATION RENTALS
The "$25 admittance Fee" per visitor
The "$25 admittance Fee" per visitor is a violation of the 14th amendment regarding "right to travel / Freedom of movement between states
https://constitution.congress.gov/browse/essay/artIV-S2-C1-13/ALDE_00013789/['travel']
https://www.law.cornell.edu/constitution-conan/amendment-14/section-1/interstate-travel

ILLEGAL VACATION RENTALS
At .gov last count there were 257,000 nights stayed in supposedly 10,000 of  these rentals on Oahu. I can only find  less than 1,000 units
257,000 nights / 10,000 units = only 25.7 nights per unit (which I know is incorrect, not financially feasible)
Anyway, 257,000 nights x 4 guests (estimate as most opt for VR's due to higher occupancy is cheaper than hotel) = 1,028,000 guests per year.

So the bread and butter of this state (tourism) will lose over 1 million, 28 thousand guests per year.
1,028,000 less shave ice, plate lunches, luau guests and other losses in mom and pop stores as well as the loss in 4.17% taxes on everything they purchase.

Too bad that "$25 admittance Fee" won't pan out.
1,028,000 guests x $25 = $25,700,000 less money for frivolous 2a court battles and speed humps.
