Italian voters reject referendum, Prime Minister Matteo Renzi will resign (Read 1454 times)

Looks like there might be a couple more chinks in the globalist armor. Couldn't happen to a nicer bunch. I hope I live long enough to see them all in total disgrace.

Italian Prime Minister Matteo Renzi conceded defeat and pledged to resign on Sunday after Italian voters rejected (59% to 41%) his proposed reforms to the country’s constitution [which would have taken power from regions in favor of the centralized government], setting further in motion a populist wave that has sent shockwaves throughout the west in the past six months, and ushering in a brand new period of uncertainty to the Eurozone’s third largest economy.

There is talk that globalization will take place in a less obvious way, now that more and more people are awake and against it.

For example, they may be putting forward an EU passport for UK people who want to belong to a trans-European entity.

So perhaps under the "deals" of Brexit, UK can "exit" but must also agree to allow these EU "citizens" free passage, etc. and perhaps even work and residency rights.

This would have the effect of penalizing people who "cling" to their nationhood.

Let's see how things actually play out in the coming months/years.

Apologies for having to make you guys read New York Times but here is an article about the New Zealand head of state suddenly resigning. No idea if that has anything to do with the anti-globalization trend.

For those persnickety souls such as myself who don't want to give the N Y Times, Zuckerberg, et al. even one click:

Sounds more like the wife gave him an ultimatum (which he, of course, being a politician, and swearing he was being honest, denied...):

He said he had a “pretty long discussion” about standing for a fourth term with his wife, Bronagh Key. “I don’t feel comfortable looking down the barrel of the camera and not being honest ... On a family basis, I don’t think I could commit much longer than the next election.”

He denied that Bronagh Key had given him an ultimatum, but said his leadership had come at a cost to his family. “It’s been a decade of a lot of long, lonely nights for her and it’s the right time for me to come home.”
