As an ex-ILWU member I can tell you these guys want their pound of flesh.
They didn't get any stimulus money because they make too much, but they want their share.
Make sure you have a few months of "stuff" in the Pantry.

I was working Foodland then.  When we had a delivery of fruits like apples and pears and such they come packed in boxes and each fruit was individually wrapped with this soft tissue like paper......

I have a bidet so I not worried about TP..  Maybe I should start hoarding and sell it at a high price later.

Always a good idea to start now and just squirrel a pkg here and there.  Rice one week.  TP the next week.  Couple of spam here.  Pork and Beans there.

Then if nomo strike, no big deal.  Can adjust if you get too much.

But if get strike, then you can sit back and enjoy the news and watch people go nuts.......

If any friends or family have chosen ‘just now’ to start prepping, IMO this video is the best first step. Of all the prepping channels, I like Chris’ the best because of how much info he provides with almost no sensationalist/clickbait filler.

Something to take into consideration is comms. If all hell breaks loose it's likely that someone will hit the internet kill switch or the newly formed Ministry of Truth will be given unconstitutional powers to shut down all dissent. Having GMRS, shortwave, ham, etc will seriously improve our ability to coordinate and find out important info like what stations still have gas, what stores still have food, and what areas to avoid because of civil unrest.

The problem to not forget is that they also control the media as well.  So basically the coconut wireless would be the best option. 

In the UK, cops came to a woman's door because she planned an event via FB to protest. They told her to remove it or be arrested. She was arrested.  I wonder if HPD or feds would do the same as time goes on. They can't do it right away because that would cause an uproar. But first which we have already scene by private entities is censorship. Now the feds want an official department to implement it, which now violates the 1A (freedom of speech). Even though big tech was working with the government at their request to censor (splitting hair argument can be made).

The only option is once this department takes off, lawsuits happen. But this could take years. Then the ministry will claim domestic terrorism, pandemic, or public safety.  It's like the pro 2A supporters were on to something decades ago.

I originally started this thread because of a potential dock strike, which seems to have been diverted.

I like his rule of threes.
3 day, 3 week,3 months. for city folk that would be a good mantra.
 

Cash, gold, and canning supplies…sounds like a good list of next-stage preps (after 3 months of basic needs)
