General Discussion / Re: Kit n Gun Supports HPD's new requirements
« on: January 10, 2024, 11:56:46 AM »
He's with Kit. I overheard Darren saying they work together outside.

What Darren said about the military not knowing HI law when he asked them,  you shouldn't need a class to exercise a right. It's on the gun owner to know any laws.
I agree and thought the same..
In the testimony he agreed with kit and called him his partner.

😝 well, I chickened s**t on the rain at around 1300. And rpoL98 was calling me out on that casually saying “we still have 1hr more of shooting to go!” 🤢 Didn’t have any excuse to that until the wifey text and said she was hungry. So I had an excuse to pack it up.. so yea, seeing the gear getting rained on started to make me nauseous.. 😂 though, I did take your idea about the whole compressor thing..
I figured you both would of been doing the rain dance.

Reloading / Re: Belted magnum cartridges

Get a case comparator as mention above. After your first firing fl size your case just like any other shouldered cartridge. Measure your fired case and set the shoulder back .002-.003”.There is collet sizing die for belted magnums that will get down to the base of the belt but I never had an issue or need for one when sizing 7rem mag using Norma and nosler brass.

Thanks rpol98 for running the show and rhed for letting me get behind your rifle that TT glass is amazing. Good shooting guys as always. Hopefully we will get some more range days before the end of the year and another tent before rainy season so we can stay dry while rhed test his gear out lol

Reloading / Re: Primer seating
« on: November 12, 2022, 12:00:39 PM »
Cci #400 are small rifle primers. But in case that was a typo measure your primer from anvil to top of cup and measure the depth of your primer pocket that will tell you if you need to crush the primer to seat them flush. FYI Saami spec on larger rifle primer thickness is min-.123” max-.136” primer pocket depth from case head is supposed to be .125”-.132” I need ~.005” crush with Peterson brass and 210m primer to get it to seat flush~-.001”

Firearms and Accessories / Re: O/U shotguns

The older 101’s had problems with the forends cracking. I have shot a 828u sport it was a pretty nice shooting gun with some nice sporting features though it is not a field gun.I would also be looking into mechanical triggers for a field/hunting o/u gun the browning 725 field/hunter grade is a nice option. Is there a reason for wanting an o/u verse a semi?
