Private property doesn’t exist if you have to pay property tax. The government owns the property. You just paid a premium in order to lease it at an affordable rate.
I very much agree with you!
Hawaii property taxes are pretty cheap compared to WA state.
I hate taxes but some things like state and local roads, public safety and a minuscule
amount for administration need to be paid for.
Privatize everything except those functions.
I like a graduated sales tax the best, that way everybody pays.
since the poor can vote, they should shoulder some of
the burden for their decisions.
Food and medical services should be exempted.
The more expensive the item the more the tax of purchase,
eg a $400 per hour lawyer is taxed at 50%
$100 per hour lawyer taxed at 10%,
Pro bono lawyers taxed at flat rate 1% of usual and customary fees.
My point is everybody pays.
The rich buying really nice stuff pay more eg Tesla cars(50%)
The poor buying used  20 year old Explorers pay less(1%)
Be surprised how that would change our society
cheaper  food and medical, fewer lawyers, cash based money system
et al.

If you ever wondered who really owns your home try not paying property tax. You will find out really quick.

(Don't really do that BTW)

sorry @groveler
i was wrong, you are right
it's 200 days
my apologies...

I thought it was 200 days but I can adjust.
Let's see Salmon run fishing, Deer season,(early, normal, and late), Elk Season
and then golf in FLA.
I can do that.
R/T airfare about $815,
Hawaii taxes little over  $2000,
pretty simple.
Hawaii is not a community property state.
up front costs-
4wd beater car half the price of a comparable
Hawaii car.
Years of building relationships.
and a large family that buy and own their homes.

No reason to apologize friend.
I doubt anybody on this site
does what I do.
Seems like most guys here are full time Hawaii legal residents
Happy to pay taxes to Honolulu and
trying to exercise their rights under the 2A here in Hawaii.
