Reloading / Re: Speer Gold Dot 2021
« on: November 08, 2021, 05:26:11 PM »
I ordered 1000 of the xtreme HPs a couple months ago from cabelas and shipping was still free.  Downside is it takes weeks to get here.  Just checked and the 124gr HPs look to be in stock right now, $52.99/500.  Cabelas is good too because they have coupon codes pretty often so can get em a little cheaper.

Wanted to say thanks for this and thanks for your original “gold dot project”.  I actually been loading these “simulators” for years after reading your original gold dot project post.  Been using unique and the xtreme 124gr HPs.  Once I run out of unique I’m gonna give the CFE a shot.  Thanks again!   :shaka:

Need to try this!  Two recent staples in my life, cold brew and whiskey.  Genius!  Where’d you get it?  They got it at regular grocery stores?

How about a beretta cx4!  Can share mags if you have a compatible pistol, beretta 92/96, px4, etc..  Similar controls to a pistol.  it’s very compact and maneuverable.  One of my favorite guns in the collection.  Downside is the mag capacity due to our 10 round limit.  Also some people don’t like the styling of it.  I think you need to try it to really appreciate how great of a gun it is.

General Discussion / Re: Who's Shooting This Weekend?
« on: April 01, 2018, 11:59:27 AM »
Went to the pistol side at KHSC today after a long hiatus from shooting.  VERY rusty!  Had a near miss today.  Was shooting my ppq and a bullet got stuck in my barrel.  Fortunately for me it got stuck at the back end of the barrel so the next round wouldn’t chamber.  If it got stuck further down the barrel it could have been a VERY bad day!  Still need to investigate to figure out what happend.  I reload so I suspect a reloading error.  So for everyone who reloads or shoots for that matter, be safe out there.  For me this was a great lesson learned and a reminder that safety should always be at the forefront of my mind in every aspect of shooting.  Aloha!

Check out Carolina shooters supply, they sell kits to do the conversion.  I sourced pretty much everything to do my conversion through them.  Great company, flat rate and fast shipping, great customer service.  As to how much it will cost, it can be pretty cheap or it also can get pretty pricey.  Just depends on what kind of components/parts you choose.

Reviews / Rs products optic mounts
« on: March 27, 2016, 12:31:03 PM »
Anyone got one?  What do you think about it?  Seems like a great option to mount optics.  I'm particularly interested in the ak301 mount with the akm 30mm ring and I am struggling between an ultimak gas tube and the rs products mount.  Also, if anyone got one would you be willing to let me fit it up on my rifle?  Reason is I got hk sights on my saiga rifle and am not sure if the hk sights will limit my view when looking through the optic.

I know you need a signature from the seller when you already have the permit.  Do you guys know if I am required to have the sellers signature when I apply for a permit?

Yeah, if someone could chime in I was curious about this too.  I was looking at the goal zero ones and was also wondering what others thought of these.

Anyone know if the firearms section is open tomorrow?  I don't think it's a state holiday, tried to check their website but couldn't find anything.

What do you all think about slinging brass?  What an inconsiderate a**hole.........or it's a shooting range what do you expect.  I'm kind of with the it's a shooting range what do you expect.  I get brass to my temple all the time at the handgun side.  I'm with some of the other guys, if it ends up on my table than that's free brass for me.

Was your friend shooting a metal gong at 100 yards?

I had to tell someone to not shoot at my target a couple of times.

No, this happened a while ago.  We was sharing the same bench and target at 50 yds but he just thought all the targets out there was free game.  Apologized to the guy and had to tell my friend that you only supposed to shoot at YOUR target.

Maybe they never know they not supposed to do that.  I took one of my friend shooting one time, he never been to the range.  I didn't even notice until the guy next to me said, "Eh, tell your friend stop shooting at my target."  Lucky cause the guy was pretty cool about it.  I was just hoping that he never blow the guys frame up.  I never told him he couldn't do it but just figured he would know better.  Sometimes something that seems like common sense to you or me might not be apparent to others.  If they was doing it on purpose yeah your title pretty much sums it up.

Hey guys, speaking of rules at kokohead.  I had another question about using pistols at the rifle range.  Correct me if I'm wrong but you can shoot pistols at the rifle range as long as you have a scope on it, correct?  If so, what is considered a scope?  Does a pistol with a red dot on it like a trijicon rmr qualify as being a "scope"?
