my top 3:  G19, Hellcat, P365
G19 good for all around carry day or night.  Hellcat is smaller than the G19, lighter, better for all day carry but no light but can add a light if I want to. SigP365 has no light or optic but I don't think that matter too much, can add a light if I want.  but I like how the Hellcat feels and shoots better than the P365.  the P365 I could use for HD gun and that would work very well, although for a carry gun it would work well too.
I wish we could choose more than 1 gun to carry.  but these are my top 3 right now (I can change each holster from paddle to belt loop easily or any G code or Tek Lok attachment)
Have you compared any of the other variants from the P365 line?

I tried to list the 9mm variants from the Sig website.  Hopefully I got it right:

P365:
   Standard
   Micro-Compact
   SAS
P365X:
   Standard
   Born & Raised
   RomeoZero
P365XL:
   Standard
   RomeoZero
   Spectre
   Spectre Comp

Here's a little easier breakdown

P365 (OG)
They also make the SAS version which only effects the sights, the sights are flush with the slide.
Grip is shorter (pinky hangs off)

P365XL
Bigger grip (longer) than the OG one, so pinky doesnt hang off
Barrel and slide are longer
Trigger is different (not curved like the OG one)

P365X
Has the P365XL frame, but the P365 slide. So more to grip (pinky doesn't hang off) and OG slide.
Trigger is like the P365XL

Why the X is in the running and not the OG one is the grip is bigger on the X and Im hoping the trigger is much better.

What I've liked about Sig is their constant focus on ergonomics.  My 1911 Fastback Nightmare had many improvements over a standard 1911 that just made the gun fit your hand and easier to shoot.

Once the consumers decide which P365 variants are the best, some of them are likely to be retired and replaced with even more improved variants IMO.  That's one big reason I've been putting off buying one now.  Plus, I have a couple of other carry options, so no need to spend the cash right away (priorities).

I was looking more for someone's personal comparison between the variants with likes and dislikes, not a list of technical differences.  But, every little bit of info helps!

I have not tried any other P365 variant other than the standard one. so my experience is very limited.  I'll have to try some of the other 365 variants, but I'm afraid I might like them and buy more pistols.   ;)
I have shot my friends P320 X5 Legion, and that trigger is very nice!   but kind of big to conceal, but a very good pistol maybe for open carry

My only XP with the P365 is the OG one. The trigger is mush, like the P320 triggers. And my grip is thumbs forward, so my support thumb is like 1/2 inch from the front of the barrel. This doesn't cause any harm, but a little too close for comfort, especially under stress where the thumb may be even more close toward the front of the barrel. Training can solve this though. But at the time of me shooting it, training on this model was 0. But when shooting the gun, I don't notice the mush, only when dry firing.

I hope we can use multiple firearms for carry
if we can then these would be my secondary carry options. you know me, revolvers of course!!!   :shaka: :shaka:
from top right going clockwise:  Colt Cobra 38sp, Ruger LCR 38sp, Ruger GP100 357, S&W 627 PC 357 (8 rounds)
for times when you need a small revolver or when you need something that hits harder than the usual pistol

For CCW Glock 48 and 43

For open carry Glock 40,  10mm long slide.

Im hoping they change it to any handgun. But we know HI will make it as difficult as possible.  So apply for all handguns u own, but downside is passport photos aint cheap. Might look into printing my own. Cost per photo is like $1 vs. $7.50 ($15 for a set)

I carry the VP9 in Vegas and since it's only a week, it's fine.  But for an EDC, I would want something smaller.

Looking at a G43X or Shield Plus due to the size and being able to carry 10rds.

I have a Smith and Wesson M&P9C that I would carry until I get to know what I want. I want to buy once cry once.  The reason why I'm not a fan of the 9C is because without the extended mag, the pinky hangs off. Not too much of an issue, but reloading takes a bigger break in the grip. So when you eject the mag, now the pinky hanging is noticable.  Plus with the mag blocked, it cannot  hold 10rds, but only 9 because the 10th round doesn't allow the mag to fit into a closed slide. This is the case for all 5 factory 10rd mags that I got from S&W.

Not a fan of the SIG 365 as the angle I don't like and the mush trigger.

Why premature? Carry is allowed in HI under certain circumstances and enviroments.

If you are looking at one CCW for every day, everything and everywhere, why limit yourself to 10 rounds? I carry 36 rounds on person in the freedom states and moore in the vehicle or bag. If HI ever allows carry, you can get 10 rounds mag for your "normal size" firearm. Why go sub compact? If you carry often, you will learn really quick the benefits of a high quality holster and taking the time to adjust it to you. A proper belt, adjusting the angle and position in which you carry as weil as accessories like Tier ! Concealed Wedges will make a huge difference in comfort as well as help with printing. Cheap is never good, good is never cheap....

One week of carry once in awhile won't teach you much. You need to try different things for many many many hours.

John Correia from ASP did research in capacity and reloads in civilian (non LE) encounters.  Reloads are extremely rarely needed, less than 0.1% so greater mag capacity is more important.  Can't wait for our mag ban to go away.  That's why I switched to the Glock 48 w shield mags for the 15 round capacity as a daily carry.  Originally I had a Glock 43 w 7 round mags.  Going to use that for deep concealment and when I go jogging.  My Glock 40 10mm is for hiking on the mainland

I learned that SIG P320 10 round mags can be easily converted by simply grinding down a nub inside.  That tip will save me a couple hundred dollars in the future.

yups. I've learned a lot since first carrying a taser so same applies to handgun.

I went budget at first because the time spent carrying didn't justify the cost but I've learned a quality holster along with spending the time to adjust and tune it to you makes a huge difference. I have a lot of CCW holsters and have settled on AIWB piggy back mag style and I have 3 that i use. Last Line Of Defense the most comfortable, T-Rex Arms Sidecar 1.0 next, T-Rex Arms 2.0 the least comfy. I will say the 2.0 has a WML, RDS and more ammo capacity so not really comparing apples to apples. I would buy another LLOD Associate but they don't make one for the new carry.

I watch his channel often. Not for his comments nor tactics but just to see real life surveillance footage. It's surprising how many rounds get shot in a lot of his videos. I agree speed reload for a civilian not very likely but I can see a tactical reload happening often. I always want my gas tank full if I have the time and opportunity. Big thing is who's to say it's only one bad guy too. I'm a Boy Scout, I'd rather be prepared. To compliment the CCW, I'd want a carbine RTG in the trunk of my vehicle as well

Many pistol magazines are similar. Sig P320 mags are expensive but they're good. The 21 rnd is a good backup mag but heavy if that's an issue

I had a 43 with Taran Tactical Extensions and yes it conceals very well. The sub compacts are just too thin for me to get a solid master grip and I have smaller oriental size hands. I chose to go compacts because if I can't get a good master grip, the accuracy and speed will suffer. That I can not except if my love ones lives are on the line. I can not imagine riding MTB with my current carry though. Riding jumps, rock gardens, roots, etc... I don't know how I would do that so I can see the benefit of a light smaller weapon. Too late I don't have the 43 anymore   :D

There are so many options and each has it's pros/cons. So what I will do is give my LGS a list of what I want and which ever one they can bring in first is what I will carry for days I wear polo shirt and slacks tucked in.

The finalist are:

SIG P365X
Smith and Wesson Shield Plus
Glock 43X

And the Tier1 Concealed Agis holster with sidecar, they make for all 3 models.  Once HPD is issuing permits, I will put my order in. Planning on giving David at DCT first dibs. Also I will not add a RDS on this carry gun.

Tactical reloads are never done in civilian defensive encounters.  Never out of the tens of thousands of incidents.  Some classes don't teach tactical reloads anymore since they're not used for CCW and instead teach speed/emergency reloads instead.

Law enforcement/combat scenarios are a little different in that a lot more rounds are fired for those.

There's a ton of misinformation that gets spread on the internet daily, especially about carrying. This video is good about kit, thing like belts and holsters and the whys and hows.

CMO, you can skip the portion about RDS. T1C Axis Slim has been on the watchlist for awhile.

I don't recommend the sidecar holsters.  I saw recommendations against sidecars and bought a Tier 1 anyways.  It limits where you position your holster and is a very minor tad bit more uncomfortable to wear.

I recommend just putting the spare magazine in a pocket.
