Revolver show and tell

post pics of your revolvers
include any special facts, history of the gun, and/or why you got the gun.

I love revolvers
when i think of a handgun, the 1st thing that comes to mind is Dirty Harry's S&W .44 magnum
I like the simplicity of a revolver, the classic look, dependability, and ease of operation.
I also watched a lot of cowboy movies when i was a kid, so maybe thats where it comes from.

currently I have 3 revolvers:
Ruger GP100 .357
Ruger LCR .22LR
Ruger Single Ten .22LR (haven't picked this one up yet still at gun shop)
as you can tell, i like Rugers.  especially for a revolver.  S&W ain't bad either.

of my current revolvers the GP100 is my favorite
the GP100 has been around since the mid 80's i believe
it can handle any factory .357 round, or .38 of course
trigger is heavy in double action - 11.5 lbs, but in single action very manageable - 3.5 lbs
i can hit steel targets at the silouhette range at 75 yards pretty consistently with the open sights.

the LCR in 22LR isn't for personal protection, but more for plinking and practice for me
this is a relatively new revolver.
and i just like this polymer revolver.  its light, compact, the trigger is heavy but its smooth.
trigger is DAO, 11.5 lbs.  and it feels just like the GP100 trigger in double action.
when i got used to the heavy trigger, the accuracy is much better.

not the best pic
i'll take some better ones when i pick up my Single Ten.

If you want something in 45 Colt/454 Casull I suggest looking at the S&W line of 460 revolvers. You can also shoot 460 S&W Mag.  I have the V model which is a 5" (technically 4" with a comp insert).

Ruger Old Army.

My dad had 2 when he died. I have one, my brother has the other. Appropriate since we both started our shooting careers helping cast balls for black powder guns. I think of him every time I get it out.

LOTS of fun to shoot and cleaning it isn't as bad as you might think. It helps that it is stainless. I also use it to teach new shooters the basics of how firearms work.

What is it about revolvers? This thread is seriously testing my resolve to not buy another gun for a while... but a 44 redhawk would go sooooo nicely with the levergun...

:D

Nice pieces on display here, gents.
