So I installed that app, got connected to these forums but still got the same error message trying to post pics. My cat pissed all over my motherboard while I had my glass removed lol, so I’m currently in the process of waiting on parts for a new build.
Thanks for trying to help though. I’ll keep at it with searching other forums for answers.
My cats have ruined a laser printer and 2 monitors, one of which was an $800 34" Dell.
Something about electronics attracts them. So, I do feel your pain.
I started covering my monitor and printer if they can get to them, and I keep the door to my office closed which has storage servers.
I'm not an administrator, so I don't know what the thresholds are here. I notice you're still labeled "Newbie." It's possible there are limits for Newbies that might include uploads, but I have no idea. I would think any restrictions would apply to the classified section, not to only certain registered users.
If you can borrow a computer until you get yours built just to perform a short test using the exact same files that failed, it might demonstrate it's an account or forum problem, not a client app/device problem. Could narrow down the cause a bit.
In the meantime, if you have or would like to register for a free account on any public, free picture storage service, you can upload there and just post links here. I do that exclusively. The advantages are:
- picture links posted in the forum are displayed full size, as opposed to showing a thumbnail that must be clicked before you can see the uploaded picture;
- doesn't take much storage space on the forum which helps this site;
- usually much more compatible with a variety of formats and sizes;
- most include an editing feature; and
- your pics are saved in one place should you wish to use them again.
I use IMGUR, but the editing is a bit wonky -- at least for me. Some features work fine, but the interface is a bit lacking.
I'm thinking of trying flickr when I get time to play around with it.
https://identity.flickr.com/sign-upif you start looking for a storage service, look for free unlimited storage. Many impose a limit for the free subscription, than charge for when you exceed that.
