Using Canned Goods
« on: September 28, 2024, 05:27:35 PM »
In the ongoing effort to cycle through my stash of canned foods, I posted a message about beanie weenies.
I also have a large stash of canned tuna.

Tuna sandwiches are easy
Tuna musubi is classic.
Tuna with Mac and cheese is good.

But I am going to try making smoked Tuna chip dip to eat with fresh veggies and tortilla chips. I never tried doing that before.

Smokey tuna dip recipe was awful.
Stick to Mac and cheese or tuna sandwiches or musubi.

The only good dish i've had with tuna was tuna casserole.  Many different recipes to play with.

Tried Tuna Helper once.  Got a bad case of indigestion.  I don't remember which flavor -- probably mac & cheese.

I used to carry a small snack to work for a quick lunch.  I played racquetball almost daily during my lunch hour, so needed something fast and easy.

Can of tuna
6-8 wheat crackers (Milton's)
banana or orange

Just enough to ward off starvation until dinner.

Mac seems a little cheesy!

I finally used up that korean spam.
A simple omelet was pretty good and the musubi was pretty good too.
Getting tired of canned food, but with the dock strike, it might come in handy.

Opened up a can of green peas mostly to supplement my Dawgs food. I liked the canned peas tho...
I also opened up fruit cocktail. I used to like that when I was a small kid. Now I want more. Lol.
