I have a noobie question here. For all you guys that do 80% builds where do you guys get it stamped so you can register it with HPD? Is there a place locally? Thanks ahead of time for all your help.

For my poly80 that I built and registered, I just did it with a dremel and engraving bit. I practiced a little on scrap metal and figured out quickly
That straight lines are much easier to do than curved lines, so all the numbers/letters I picked had straight lines i.e. 7, K, M, N, 1, 4, L etc

If you want to make your options easier, take it to be engraved BEFORE any milling work.  Perfectly legal to tote around and leave at a trophy or jewelry engraving shop.

The risk, of course, is possibly messing up the milling and wasting the cost of engraving.

FWIW.

I would just buy an electric engraver and do it myself.  Useful to mark a lot of other things like tools etc.  They only cost about $20.

I tried looking, but can't seem to find it.  There was another posting for suggested serial number on your 80% build.  They were really cool/funny.

Yup had to set up an appointment and it was $50 cash. He doesn't take card for jobs like that.

Negative. I only used about half of those characters. And repeated some.

K-R-1-M-1-N-4-L

Now you got me thinking for my next serial number if I ever decide to build another one. But that R would be hard with the curve. I might have to go blocky letter style like the electronic road signs on the freeway font to make the “R” work with my limited dremel skills.
