Just saw that.  Article below says it potentially impacts current restrictions in Western States because of Court's jurisdiction.  Does that impact Hawaii?

General Discussion / Re: Ballistic missile Alert
« on: January 13, 2018, 03:07:38 PM »

Yup. Radiation will contaminate all water sources for a long time, including future rainfall when it hits the ground. I'd want to go quickly in the initial blast.

That is where the real issue lies.

Today, everyone in Hawaii is really lucky that it was a false alarm for whatever reason.  Next time, it may be the real thing.  The issue is not about improving the missile defence or civilian alert systems or trying to get Hawaii to increase its emergency food reserves.

The real issue people living in Hawaii and more so on Oahu should be starting to think about is the question of whether having so many military assets in Hawaii, particularly on Oahu is really a great idea.  Unless you have access to the underground or in-mountain bunkers the military possesses, no amount of preps or survival gear will matter in the case of a nuclear strike resulting in HECO going down, radiation contamination of our soils and water supply, shipping companies not wanting to risk coming to Hawaii in the aftermath, and your own neighbors who will be ready to kill you for all of your preps, since they did not make the efforts to prepare for themselves.

The elderly, disabled, prescription/dialysis dependent, illegal drug user, and every other man, woman, and child living in Hawaii will always live in fear of as well as surviving a nuclear attack, unless the US military makes the right decision of relocating its assets to some other island location.  If they can find the money to pay for the every increasing budget of the rail for the next 10+ years, no one can say they can not find the money to keep its populace out of harm's way.

And for FEMA, forget about them...

Reloading / Hornady Autocharge
« on: March 07, 2017, 08:50:02 PM »
Hello. Does anyone have experience with the Hornady autocharge with cfe224 and varget?  there are mixed reviews on both ends of the spectrum with more of the good ones.  It's pricey ($169), but cheap compared to other options (e.g., rcbs chargemaster).  I will primarily be reloading 223 and 308 now.  other calibers in the future, but not anytine soon.

Mostly interested in precision charges and problems with expected life.  Also, if there are better options you would recommend, im all ears.  Thanks in advance!

Off Topic / Re: Firearms Insurance
« on: March 03, 2017, 06:14:38 AM »
I have state farm and I think their base coverage was $2,000for guns. I added extra coverage for my firearms. I think the extra coverage I purchased didn't have a deductible either.

I also have statefarm and the $2k coverage is under homeowners insurance.  Like the previous post said, there are limitations to that so i inquired about additional coverage for firearms and found they don't have a blanket coverage policy.

My home owners policy (GEICO) only insures for a max of $7k. That would only cover half of my inventory. Any suggestions for an company that provides insurance? Thanks....

State Farm covers, but doesnt provide blanket coverage of all your firearms...  you're required to indicate coverage associated with each firearm... didnt work for me...

I'm surrounded by hundreds of cattle, pigs, goats, and quite a few farms, plus my own
cattle, pigs, goats, and farm.  I prepare for all sorts of things.  I'm going to go off grid this year
because the Hawaii Democrats want too much for electricity and I can make it cheaper.
I'd like to see Oahu go down hard! and get rid of all the gun grabbing Democrats.
Crazy, maybe,  but I cannot stand Democrats and the BS they put normal people
through bad laws.  Let them all die of thirst,  disease, and starvation.

the problem arises when you need to effectively protect your resources from those who are not prepared for disaster.
