General Discussion / Re: Tacoma or Frontier?
« on: February 15, 2024, 07:19:49 PM »
Had a 2013 Taco. Really awesome and reliable truck. High miles on it, never an issue.  Had a 2021 Frontier. Seemed like a robust and good truck. Didn’t own it too long as gas prices got insane.

Taco had slightly better gas mileage. Frontier was a beefier truck. (Has a full boxed frame).

I really take care of my vehicles and maintenance is religious.

Not sure about new turbo engine on the Toyota.  Turbo vehicles usually require high octane fuel, and definitely synthetic oil changed frequently.

Reserved a lane at Kokohead for this weekend. Anybody know the best way to shoot a Garand with the “5 rounds at a time” rule? I was thinking just putting the en bloc in and ejecting 3 rounds. Not sure if the RSOs frown on that or anything.

Before they used to look past that rule for the Garand. As long as you’re not rapid firing. Not sure how it is now.

His testimony isn’t a second amendment issue, nor a first amendment issue.  It is solely a pocketbook issue.

9th is stalling. They cannot rule.  They have exhausted their twists of logic to spin past the SCOTUS precedent.  They are hoping for a demorat victory. They really want to stack the SCOTUS with more activists puppet judges that will ignore their constitutional duties and oath, just like they do.

Yes but first stand holder I tried was too tight for my YG wood frame so I had to use the next one over.

Roj. Thank you

There are certain ammo that work better in short barreled carry pieces. Personally I use 147 gr off the tests from what I’ve watched from the shootingthebull410 series. He’s pretty thorough in his testing. And the results look pretty good.

I’ve also made training ammo with 147 coated cast projectiles that mimic velocity and recoil, so I could practice at a lesser cost.

The anti-Semitism is disturbing to me. Millions died to stop the evil nazi bastards. Now, less than a century later, this call for extermination again?

I think if someone is making a claim that a thing (antidepressant use, in this case) is a causal or contributing factor to a behavior (mass murder with firearms), then the burden of proof lies with the person making that claim.

How the heck is an average citizen supposed to do this?

I’d like our politicians to get this question answered, instead of focusing on the gun. Any person with a slight ability to think logically and sensibly would be able to figure out that the tool is not the cause. And punishing those not responsible for the act is no solution.

People like you are the reason the hard questions don’t get asked. There is no studies because no one is making them do any. Until the problem is really reduced to its basic causes, there will never be any solution.

https://www.kitv.com/news/hawaii-looking-at-expanding-psychedelic-therapies/article_cd31454e-793b-11ee-8ca9-bffd57a77635.html

"With more people experiencing trauma, we need to provide as many options as we can, to deal with PTSD, depression, and anxiety," added Hartsock.

Mani feels ketamine worked wonders for her, and Dr. Cook says Hawaii patients find it easier to accept the idea of psychedelic therapy than another important island group.

"It is harder to convince my doctor colleagues and lawmakers, because there is a cultural fear and cultural baggage. But once people delve into them, the healing becomes so personal that baggage becomes irrelevant," added Dr. Cook.

After informal meetings, Hawaii's Breakthrough Therapies Task Force will come up with recommendations before the legislative session.

Which means in a few months, lawmakers could end up voting on whether to expand psychedelic therapy in the islands.

Yeah. That’s a good idea. Let people already out of touch with reality go even further away from it.

Super strong evidence there… from a for-profit journal.

Where are the studies then? If the questions will not be asked and pushed, no real data can be collected. How many of these shooters was on these drugs? What kind of detective work is it when these things happen, the extent of the investigation is what type of firearm the shooter used and what was the person’s political affiliation?

It’s utterly ridiculous. And shows that the powers that be give no care to getting down to the real cause.

Can you link to a label?  The ones I’ve seen don’t say anything about risk of violent behavior toward others, just increased suicidality.

If one would have a tendency want to do harm to themselves, logically, depending on the personality, it stands to figure they might also wouldn’t have any problem doing harm to others.

If such drugs are causing such tendencies you really think the companies making billions legally peddling this garbage would voluntarily divulge such statistics.

I think not.

They don’t give two shits about the real issues. Nor does government, when there is an agenda being pushed. Peon pawns will be sacrificed until the goal is met.

I think the fad angle better explains mass shooters than does the emergence of anti-depressant drugs.

There was a phase, I think it was in the 80s, where serial killings spike but they later decreased back down to normal levels and there were many signs it was a fad wave. Mass shootings also have many signs they are a fad type of thing.

Anti-depressants could play a role but I haven't seen any evidence that really shows it plays any significant role.

Haven’t seen evidence?  It’s right there on the long list of side effects on the label of these drugs.

Do you think there would be fewer shootings if there were fewer anti depressants?

When anti depressant drugs were nonexistent, and mentally deranged people were locked up and treated, seems there were a lot less of such incidents.

Thank you big pharma, ACLU, and politicians for giving us such great gifts.

Is there an ETA for oahu?

They are speaking about the city ordinances for Big Island and Honolulu counties. This case doesn’t affect them, the suit only applies to state law.

There would have to be another challenge to county ordinances.

Had success with marketplace. Had some flakes too.  More success than failure than most other methods. At least you can kind of check people’s profile there and see if they seem for real

Did u write a complaint?

Sent from my SM-G991U using Tapatalk

If you file a complaint to the police commission, they will want you to name a specific officer. I initially wrote an email, they directed me to the written form which needs to be notarized. Since I did not know an exact person that would need to be “responsible” for the errors that was holding up my application, I contemplated naming the chief of police.  However, shortly after writing the complaint email (ccd the entire city council and governor) my approval letter was received.

They are playing games with our right IMO.

I don’t really blame the officers themselves, I know it’s the top and the politicreatures that are behind this.
In some ways that are worse than criminals. They have unlimited funding and time to f*ck with us.

Legal organized criminals, the lot of them.

The State still continues to use interest balancing as an argument, yet it has been already ruled that arguments cannot be used anymore.  Are they dense, stupid, or both?
