No smoking at KHSC
« on: December 19, 2013, 10:06:15 PM »
Just received an email that KHSC is now a Smoke-Free facility and smoking will only be allowed outside of the entrance.  Is this the beginning of more restrictions to come.   :wtf:

Going into effect starting Jan. 1st all state parks and bus stops will be non-smoking areas, adding to beaches.  Kokohead range falls under that so yeah.

Lol...do we need to use powderless ammo now?

The smoking ban at parks and facilities starts January 1, 2014. The smoking ban at bus stops goes into effect 120 days after the mayor signs it.

All city beaches, parks and bus stops are now No Smoking areas.  That includes things like softball fields, tennis courts and pools.

The only exception which was added today allows lighting up on municipal golf courses.

Ahh, the inevitable "exception", and surprise surprise, at the golf course, the second home of politicians. What's next, "anti-gay rhetoric" free zones? No farting zones?

We've become a nation of puling whiners, subject to the whims and vitriol of vocal minorities.

that sucks
the range is one of the few places where i look forward to enjoying a cigar after I shoot
sometimes i will enjoy a cigar and drink a soda after shooting, by my car or well in back of the shooting line
i always respect others space
just enjoying watching people shoot, and look for any unusual guns or maybe learn from someones gear bag or tool box or whatever.
I dont think the shooters really care if you smoke or not

and why not golf?
bc a lot of politicians play golf and dont shoot, thats why.
its the same dam thing.
its either all or nothing, otherwise its not a fair rule
maybe its like Lebron James in the NBA
you can call a foul on anyone else for pushing off as they drive the basket
but not LJ, bc he's the chosen one.

whats the logic with golf?

Will it be enforced is the question.  If you let it go,  then its the rule.  Just like getting your privates groped at the airport,  hardly anyone gripes, so the sex assaults continue....

If they have the bull dozer there, why can't they clear an area by the bathroom, central area for smoking area with maybe a small covered bench area like the bus stop.  If there is a fire or accident by the highway caused by possible smoker, we all will be stuck inside.

I wonder if you still can by the silhouette side since it's private run.
Google it cause every question is a dumb question.

exactly.
plenty of no smoking zones i see people smoking, but nobody says anything
i really dont care if you smoke there, so I dont say anything either.
if you come up to me and blow it in my face, then thats another story
but I very rarely have witnessed anybody tell a smoker in a no smoking zone to not smoke there.

Doesn't matter if its private run.

It's still in a public park

SMOKING @ a Gun Range:

What about Gunsmoke?

I asked one local FFL why he doesn't shoot from the prone position if he wants to be accurate and he said he didn't want to get dirty.

With all the chemicals that get shot out of the barrel into the air going to the range is like dating my last girlfriend.

You can come clean but you will leave dirty.

Also if you come dirty, you really can't leave clean, can you?
