Description: Waianae Military Civilian Advisory Council (WMCAC) is made up volunteers striving to help Waianae Coast residents become a more resilient community. The event will be hosted at the Waianae Internet Cafe which is a Hawaiian Hope project. Hawaiian Hope, a 100% volunteer organization, logging over 1,200 volunteer hours in a single month has teamed up to help get the Waianae Coast better prepared for the next disaster. Join us to make the Waianae Coast a more resilient community by learning how you and your family can prepare, respond and recover from the next disaster. Representatives from the City and County of Honolulu Department of Emergency Management and Hawaii State Civil Defense / Hawaii Emergency Management Agency, Honolulu Police Department Community Policing Team, Office of Senator Maile Shimabukuro, Office of Councilmember Kymberly Pine, Waianae Coast Rotary Club and the Waianae Lion's Club will be there to answer your emergency preparedness questions.
