SNIP
Watched about half.  Interesting gun.  SWAT requested a revolver?  Made some sense on his reasoning, but still.

Looks like it would be a pricey gun though.

SWAT knows revolvers are better  ;)

changed the grips on my GP100 for the 3rd time
the wood ones I had on didn't work quite how I would like them to.  ejecting the brass and using a speed loader was very difficult bc the wood grips were too wide.  also bc they were a bit bigger, it was a stretch to shoot double action.
so I got these ones from Altamont.  has snakeskin checkering front and back of the rubber grips.  fits better in my hand, and works well with the speedloader and ejecting the brass.
Altamont shipped really fast.  I got the grips in 3-4 days

Like the look of those Altamont grips with the SS finish!

You mentioned checking front and back, but seems like the sides are smooth.  How is the overall grip compared to the original wood grips?  Since the wood grips looks like they have some decent texturing on the sides of the grip.

the checkering and finger grooves on the wood grips help to keep hold of the revolver better, but on this GP100 bc its the 6" barrel and is pretty heavy, recoil isn't really a problem with the Altamont grips

Mine shoots pretty good. But about 2’ high! LOL

Loading the ammo for it takes a lot of work. But it is extremely cool. Trigger is heavy and gritty. And it is so easy to clean as only the barrel gets dirty. The cylinder stays clean. Mine was Made in 1914 and in pretty good condition. They can be found online but the ammo is tough to find.  WGS used to have some but admitted to me they ordered it by accident. So once they run out you would have to load your own.

Thought this was interesting to me bc I have 2 357's with 3" barrel (GP100 and Vaquero) and 1 with 2.75" barrel (Security Six), like this test gun. I also reload with Hornady, although I use xtp projectiles

Interesting comparison. Considering the 500 S&W is a relatively new cartridge and the 450 Marlin is much older. And the 45-70 is originally a black powder cartridge, I would say the 45-70 held it’s own. Though both the 45-70 and 450 Marlin are rifle cartridges. So they will lose a little velocity from 10” barrel compared to the tradition rifle barrel. They should be loaded with a slower burning rifle powder which should perform better in a longer barrel. I would love to see the same cartridge comparison using them in rifles. Thanks Stang!!!

Just picked up this Ruger LCRX in .22 WMR. Feels good, light weight. Look forward to shooting it.

The double action is smooth but heavy. I hear there is an aftermarket spring to make it lighter but I'll think about that later. The single action trigger has a nice clean break.
