Legal and Activism / Re: SB3196 - Testimony Numbers Manipulation
« on: February 26, 2024, 02:29:39 PM »
Mahalo for bringing this to hifico’s attention. We have sent a letter to Senate President Kouchi as well as the members of the JDC exposing the duplicate and triplicate emails as well as asking why emails were allowed to be submitted in the first place.

Felt this needed its own post. Delete if redundant.

Decided to do some major grunt work related to these testimonies. While scanning through the pdf files of testimonies submitted, I discovered the following:

- 193 copy-paste email testimonies sent directly to Rhoads from Everytown for Retardation, beginning with the phrase "I'm urging you to protect Hawai'i residents like me..."

- 474 copy-paste email testimonies sent directly to Rhoads from Everytown for Retardation, beginning with the phrase "Please protect Hawai'i residents like me from gun violence..."

- 71 individuals submitted at least two testimonies using both phrases.

- Of the 71 multiple submissions, 42 are triple submissions, meaning their names are listed 3 times in the pdf files.

- All 667 emails were sent directly to Rhoads via everytownʻs email. I wasnʻt able to check if they submitted official testimony through the legislature site as well.

I believe it might be a good talking point to bring up with those senators on the JDC committee will influence the vote on Tuesday, as this can be interpreted as interference and manipulation of the numbers to justify passing this in light of strong opposition; especially considering Rhoadsʻ clear anti-constitutional biases, his affiliations with Everytown. and the fact that he is the individual who included these emails as official testimony on the record.

Sent you a DM

Spent the past few hours going through the copy-paste testimonies again. Here are my findings:

Will make a separate post on this.

There's a Hawaii Kai neighborhood board mtg tonight.  Would be. A good place to ask the questions and see council member Walters.  I'm off island so cannot attend, but trying to find someone to go.  https://www.honolulu.gov/component/jevents/icalrepeat.detail/2022/09/27/16063/1197/hawaii-kai-nb-regular-meeting.html?Itemid=2404

Looks like you can attend digitally.  Also there is nothing on the agenda discussing Koko Head SRC

Check AARL
https://www.arrl.org/

Another is the Cross Island Resilience Network (CICRN) pretty much coordinated  through Kaneohe/Kahaluu CERT (KKCERT)

KKCERT 8/11/20 minutes
2.   Comms Report
a.   Mark B – last week testing - last person in group, contact group leader for report/count – HAMS monthly Amateur Radio Emergency Service (ARES ) test is Wednesday, 2000 (8 pm) – Janice (a disaster!  FRS radio compatibility [problem w/Marie, too – Frosty, Mark B & John to work on programing all radios, older to newer]) – remember, if problem connecting, use phone, text, whatever.
b.   HAM test – not all on, no Simplex, but generally a good effort

If you want to get connected with this group, LMK
We're always looking for another "HAM" and I think you qualify.

Mahalo, Rocky,

I am a member of Manoa CERT. LOL.  Just looking for a list of frequencies people use to program their radios.

Cheers!

here we go...
I did not mention the CCP I mentioned the PEOPLE. To understand that is to live there and have relatives that still live there.

No. You took offense to the OP's use of the word "China" and pointing out they are acting like present NAZIs.  You took it to mean the Chinese People but that was not the original context.  The use of CHINA (also pronounced CHY- NAA) refers to the system of government, ie the CCP,  just as referring to Germany during the 40s automatically references the German National Socialist Workers Party - aka NAZIs.
13
You are wrong in comparing China to Nazi Germany and Imperialistic Japan. To compare the Chinese people to Nazis without understanding their history and culture is very wrong, insulting to Chinese and irresponsible. Hong Kong was not "taken over".

Tell that to the millions of Uyghurs in concentration camps or the 60-100 million Chinese murdered by the Chinese Communist Party.  It is ironic you do not think that the CCP is akin to the Nazis -Communism is a literally concept born of German thought.  And while Nazism differs in that it was a reaction to the rise of Socialism (Diluted Communism) we all know both systems have only yielded mass murder and abject poverty wherever they went.

Guns and Gadgets did a nice summary of the case.

I have been deepening my preparations.  Focused on flu medications, then meat (freeze), then luxuries (chocolate, cookies, beer, whisky). One thing I realised was I needed to get a supply of milk for our babies.  Dry formula was crazy expensive.  Went with powdered milk (6lbs), enough for 32 days for our daughter.  Next is gasoline(25 gallons) and filling up our water tanks. I fully expect a terrorist attack on th e USA when the virus is at its peak.

... you have the right to remain silent.

I know that SOME of us here have items that Chief Ballard would love to confiscate.
No need to make it easier for her.

Sigh.... The illusion that you have any anonymity is an illusion.  They already have your registration on your ARs, AKs, HKs, SCARs, etc.  If it comes to confiscation of magazines they already have you by the balls.

Might as well stand together lest we all hang alone.

I am buying another 10-20 magazines for my various platforms.  Anyone else?

The article you reference is from MS NBC, one of the most left biased outlets out there.  TheTruthAboutGuns had there own reporter in the hearing and his take is cautiously optimistic.  https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/on-the-arguments-predicting-the-outcome-of-new-york-state-rifle-pistol-assn-v-city-of-new-york/

Fake News Warning----

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/12/02/supreme-court-shows-little-appetite-for-expanding-gun-rights.html

Supreme Court shows little appetite for expanding gun rights in arguments over repealed New York regulation

KEY POINTS
-The Supreme Court seemed unlikely to deliver a major win for gun-rights activists during arguments in the first significant Second Amendment case the justices had heard in nearly a decade.
-Some of the court’s conservatives, including Justices Neil Gorsuch and Samuel Alito, seemed eager to use the case to address the reach of the Second Amendment.
-But it appeared likely that Chief Justice John Roberts would side with the court’s liberals to dismiss the matter altogether as moot.
