44 or 357 lever guns are the OG PCC

Was interested in a Marlin 1894 SBL in 44 magnum for the longest time, but Marlin was having problems until Ruger took over the line.

Recently Ruger released the Marlin 1894 Trapper in 357 magnum.  I think the Marlin line will be restored to it's original greatness due to the commitment Ruger has to making great firearms.

BUT,

Other makers like Henry came out with some really cool lever guns, especially their tactical line of lever actions.

Now I dunno what I like.  Maybe all of them. ;D

I recently got a Marlin 44 made by Ruger. the classic model. put a 1-6 LPVO on it. It packs a heavy punch. more than my 308 bolt gun but not as much as a 450 bushmaster

General Discussion / Re: register pistol with blank PTA
« on: December 05, 2025, 10:07:56 AM »
I talked to Suzy who I've talked to before many times and she knows the process well
said I need to bring in the firearm with blank PTA bc it may be a new firearm that the FFL/store did not do paperwork on yet. so I guess I will have to make another trip down to hpd
blank PTA saves time, but does not save a trip to hpd
she said they are backlogged 500 online registrations and may take 2 months to receive online registration. not my problem. hpd better work faster. cut back on the eating chicken katsu and start working faster. chop-chop!

I asked if I did 1 PTA and 1 blank PTA, do I need to fill out all the forms twice?
Answer was no, just 1 set of forms. So saved me some time. I hate filling out all those forms
