General Discussion / Re: Order from https://www.highrollerguns.com/

Great Questions:

From what i understand, they will only ship once they have met their MINIMUM Quantity required.  So how long does it take?  My shipment took about 2weeks.

from Purchase to arrival

so here's why i purchased:

1) Great Price!  NO Credit Card Surcharge, Part of OGC which has a Great reputation in my book.
2) Knew it was "bulk shipments" aka could take a couple weeks.
3) Bottom line, Everything was "upfront" and simple

Aloha!

Great to see them pushing more options for us. OGC has always taken care of me and kept things transparent. +1 for them.

They buttered us up prior to their range opening with things like being able to use our own ammo, which they never did.

They use unfortunate events like COVID to try and squeeze every single dollar out of us with their ridiculous price inflation. And they don’t give people the respect to even respond back lol.

Why would any of us want to support a business like this? I can’t believe they don’t see this lol. I stick to giving my business to stores that actually give a damn to create and keep relationships with us, their customers (SEC, OGC, Young Guns etc...).

it did work better on google chrome
some stuff didn't work on my desk top bc i don't have chrome on that
kind of not very user friendly on my phone either, but i made it work
who the hell makes an app only for google chrome???

Sub-standard programmers who are probably extremely underpaid, Because Hawaii doesn't think investing in software is worth anything until stuff blows up in their face...
Being a coder here sucks, we all work for mainland companies because of this state's ignorance to technology.

End rant.

With this quarantine, things been getting a little "weird" around the house with the missus.

    Last night she say's . . .
"You weren't  even listening to me, were you ?"

    I thought to myself  . . .
"That's a pretty strange way to start a conversation"

How about the rest of you ?

Yeah I hear ya man. My wife says the same thing. But then my response is:

"Yes, honey we went over this. I have tinnitus."

Supply and Demand, Econ101

What I've found is that the guys buying my "overpriced" ammo were glad to get it, most knew prices and supply were cheaper before the pandemic but they'll admit that they got caught short for whatever reason and feel a need to get some ammo NOW.  What is somewhat amusing to me is those that are making cracks about profiteering or wringing their hands and boo-hooing the evil gougers--I DON'T SEE YOU SELLING ANY OF YOUR STUFF AT PRE-PANIC/SHORTAGE PRICES. [Masamune's latest offering is probably the exception that proves the rule]

I fill that need as I see fit--I'm willing to let pretty large quantities of ammo go to others (200 to 500 rounds, 1K if someone really wants it).  Meet me in town and have cash in hand.  I'm not sanctimoniously doling out a few rounds at a time and putting obnoxious conditions on people to "qualify" to buy my ammo--if you want what I got, I'll sell it to you. Period.  I don't need to know why you are buying ammo, that's your business.

As for X Ring, they run their business as they see fit.  That's what CAPITALISM in the USA is all about.  I probably won't give them any of my business, that's also what the USA is about--free will and making up your own mind.  Public shaming went out with the Pilgrims.

Someone needs a hug.

Problem is so many people in Hawaii don’t know enough about how our government works (including me). These politicians run unopposed with no accountability because the people here are so clueless. Very frustrating.

Yup. It seems like the dems really do anything they'd like, unopposed.

General Discussion / Re: HI residents buying a pistol in AZ?
« on: January 11, 2020, 12:26:42 AM »
If your intention is to use the gun in AZ, buying and using it there is not an option.

If you're shopping for a handgun in a state you don't reside in, you can purchase it and have the seller ship it to a HI FFL.  After it arrives, you can apply for the permit to acquire.  Your FFL will hold the gun until you pick up the permit.

So, the short answer is: take your own.

Right on man, thanks for the info. Much appreciated  :shaka:

General Discussion / HI residents buying a pistol in AZ?
« on: January 10, 2020, 10:44:02 PM »
I'm traveling to AZ in a couple of weeks, and was wondering if it's possible for me to purchase a pistol there?

Since I'm not an AZ resident and Hawaii law requires 2 weeks for a background check for pistols, I was wondering if that still applied in AZ for HI residents traveling there.

Has anyone done this? Wondering if I should just bring a pistol with me instead.

This is the people they should throw the book at, The only reason you steal firearms is to commit crime, These are the guns that end up killing people not the guns people lawfully own.

Agreed

OGC and SEC are my go-to's.

OGC has really good pricing on bulk ammo and the guys there are cool my experiences with Eric & Carter have been good.
They also have probably the largest selection on island both ammo and firearms.

SEC also has some good deals on bulk ammo and their pricing for firearms is really competitive! Both pistols and rifles.

Ok guys, if you're an ACOG fan like me and most AR guys...you should definitely look into this scope.
http://www.browe-inc.com/categories/Special-Offer/
Seeing that the Trijicon line of ACOG scopes are so damn expensive it's nice seeing someone give them some competition.

The Browe line of optics come from an ex- Trijicon exec who decided to branch off and make his own.

I have one personally and have compared it with ACOG scopes and I can tell you this thing is damn good quality, on par with Trijicon, even better in my opinion. Look into it, for the price point right now it's definitely worth considering! I highly recommend!

FYI I am not a sales rep or affiliated with the company by any means, just a brotha trying to spread the word about what I think is a great product for a great value!  :shaka:
