Political Discussion / Re: WTF Trump

I don’t understand why people are getting crazy over the 50 year mortgages. If you don’t want 50 then don’t do it? However it will help people who want to save a few hundred on their monthly payments, not to mention you can either pay extra to shorten the loan or refinance later when you make more money or when interest rates come down.

Also his reasoning behind H1B visas was explained pretty well on Laura ingrams show. You can’t have billions of dollars of investment into chip factories and expect to pull people off an unemployment line with no experience in chip manufacturing. You need experienced workers to actually show American workers how to be efficient.

Republicans are losing the information war.

I'm against 50yr mort, but I do like giving the option. Lets be realistic, if a 30 year old is ready to buy a home, that means they won't be paying it off until they're 80.  Which affects when they will retire as you don't want to retire when you still have lots left on your mortgage.  I mean you can, but it's not a wise decision.  And assume they live that long.

I use 30 as that's typeically when people start to get married and look to buy a home.  Of course there are those in their 20's who want to do this then by 70 they will be paid off.

We are looking at generational debt/mortgages.

40 years would be better, but the monthly savings from 30 years wouldn't be as much as a 50 year one.

I think Trumps not on the list due to my reasonings above and all available supporting evidence.  I think that this is a joint intel honeypot type operation to blackmail people of power.  If word got out that the spookes were involved and with other countries who we're allies with (Masaad cough cough), then it would be worst than the FISA rubber stamp issue or Snowden that the media burried.

The scary part is I'm sure Ep isn't the only operation running.  They have to know if 1 falls, they need a back up just in case.

He's doing the vid for clicks.  All the areas he's showing typically are dead.

The areas surrounding Fremont st is never busy, even precovid.  Fremont st itself doesn't pick up until the sun goes down.

Fashion Show Mall also is typically empty like how he showed.  Even precovid.

The area infront Palazzo is also usually empty like that as it isn't a high traffic area.

The area in front the LINQ,Harrahs, Flamingo is like that since Covid. The days of shoulder to shoulder of people in that high traffic area hasn't returned.  This is the new "normal".

The Bellagio area did seem emptier than normal though as thats a high traffic area at all times of day.

IMO, he's jumping on the band wagon as Vegas has been like this since Covid and it's been 4 years now.

IMO, the worker did sort of right by reporting to his supervisor. It should have just been noted and ended there.  Esp if there's a language barrier and "go buy lunch" wasn't stated.

But the guy who has his car stolen and video of the thief and thiefs name doesn't get charged.

However, certain things are beginning to concern me recently, but the biggest one is the Epstein file issue.

He campaigned on making the Epstein files transparent.  Now I'm like WTF?!!

That shows how deep it goes and with blackmail.  We can say this with a good certenty.  He never took part in the illegal stuff Ep was doing.  Because if he did, the fake news and all would have ran with this years ago.

The fake news has no low, they make up stories against Trump.  The other fact that they didn't use Ep to make up a story also shows that there are bigger fish in the files and they don't wanna open a can of worms.

50 Year mort is a bad idea.  You don't save that much on the monthly.

The hardest part of a mortgage is coming up with the down payment.  Esp in states like HI that have high property values. Not everyone can take advantage of 5% loan programs.  When we bought our condo part of the 1st time home buyer HI program, we had to come up with a 10% down.  People can afford the monthly as they're paying rent anyways, it's the down that's the problem.  At the time, other mortgagees outside of the program wanted 30% down.

So our $500K condo, we had to come up with $50K.  Imagine the 30% at $150K down.

There should be options at all mortgagees for 0 down.

Simple solution, no chase if they're a "good guy".

Wynn is up 10% and in general the strip is down 6% gaming revenue.  Wynn's room occupancy was down.  What this means is that they know their market.  THey stated they were not trying to fill rooms, so no lower pricing or comps to not their ideal market.  Seems like they learned from covid reopening as when they and Palazzo/Venetian gave free rooms to lower income people, they got lower income problems.  Like more fights on the casino floors.  Palaz/Ven were the first to revoke giving comps to this demographic, followed shortly by Wynn.

So Wynn's statement about not lowering room prices makes sense.

At least Wynn gives free parking to hotel guest. Most do not. Wynn's snacks/drinks avaiable in their rooms also is lower than other hotels on the strip.  I mean, they're still much higher than Walgreens, but not $25 for a bottle of water.

My daughter is a teacher and keeps in touch with her former students.  2 of her former students are in Vegas right now.

Stuck at the airport. :(  Their flights have been canceled and the airlines are working to get them home.

Plus they said most of the places they went to eat at was junk.  Overpriced and one buffet they went to seemed to have food that was either from the day before or sitting under the heat lamp too long.

Moral of the story:  Don't eat at buffets since visitor count is down, the food will not be refreshed as often.

At least they got delayed on the way back and not when going.

there are only 2 buffets on the strip worth it's cost. Bacchanal and Wynn.  All others are way overpriced.

The moral of the story is watch reviews before going.  Or ask friends who are regulars.  I guess many have old vegas in their mind still.

I hope they also use this for DOGE. All those who didn't show up are then fired.  It made no sense to not show up as you will eventually get your pay.  By not showing up, no pay. Unless sick pay or PTO/vacay was used, but then what is their sick pay protocol.

These clowns created the problem of Obama care and purposefully made it unsustainable to use it as leverage against the people and to launder the kickbacks from the insurance companies.  Nothing about this government healthcare helps people.  It helps these politicians and insurance companies make billions of dollars.

Trump posted that any subsidies should be paid to the individual and not the company.

Exactly 60 votes seems suspicous.  I suspect most Democrats wanted the shutdown to be over but had to save face by just getting the minimum yea votes so they can continue to complain.

So the ACA goes back to it's original subsidy next year.  I think there will still be a blame game but I don't see another shutdown happening.  Most people will be able to afford the increase in healthcare.  The increased subsidies only made up $40 billion (or $450 billion over 10 years) out of the $1.5 trillion the Democrats were demanding during the shutdown.

Overall Republicans won.  People on SNAP will get their food.  Federal employees are gravitating towards Republicans.  Democrats lost respect from their own side.

Word is the DNC who voted for it are not up for re-election.

I hope that this government shutdown will hurt the Dems worse 10x than the Republicans come the midterms!

At this point I am in favor of keeping that government shut down until the "useful idiots" that make up 85% of the party at this point wake up and smell the fat $#!+ coffee they are being served by their selfish senators (looking at you Bozo & $hatz).

I hope the useful idiots come to their f@#%ing senses and turn on their blue-@$$3d constituents when it comes to voting time, seeing them as the ones to blame for the 2 1/2 (possibly +) months worth of pain they caused.

NY, CA, NJ, VA were all off-season elections that purely banked on the short term pain of the government shutdown and months of media driven TDS. The movement against them has got to remain united, America first, constitution first, and no in-fighting EVER!

It's good to have diversity of ideas but PLEASE until we secure a super majority next midterm keep your zionist conspiracy theories, uniparty black-pilling, tariff tantrums, and isolationist idiocy to your GOD D@MNED SELVES!!!  >:(

Trump posted about how this is currrently hurting the GOP for some elections that have taken place.

Schummer is saying the DNC wants a 1 year extetion of the "subsidies" for the ACA and they will sign a temp bill or something.

I hope the GOP doesn't give in because 1 year form now, the DNC will do the same.

The issue is "whales" want bigger rooms and not your standard 250sq foot one.  then the companies have various casinos for different clientel. A whale won't usually stay at Excalibur, but instead NYNY at min.

It comes down to diersifying and knowing your clientel.  The casinos pushed as hard as they could and alienated many.  This resulted in months in not a year of loss income from these people. Now they're trying to get them back, which would take time too.

I remember when Summer was slow, so they made summer specials during summer. But they did it too late as many people book vacays months in advance due to requesting time off from work.  This is their mindset, thinking of "what can we get away with". The majority demographic that would take this are the weekend drivers coming in from CA or so on last minute decisions.

All those emptry rooms, keep in mind 2 casinos are missing. So it would be even more.

I have a theory about the cracking concret.  The rail was supposed to be up and running by then. This way they can blame the car weight, humid weather, and salt water for the crack as wear n tear.
