I noticed that the kokohead website still shows that the county is still trying to hire RO’s.

I thought that the City would have enough RO’s by this time.   Anyone have any inside info on if there will soon be  enough RO’s to end reservations??

(A group of us go and we like to have adjoining tables…so we would just go early)

I love the reservation system and advocate for it.  Beats driving down at 5 am to get a table on the weekends.  Was terrible when people hold tables for their friends that come later.  Sorry…the system works for me. 

From what I see, the reservation system helps the folks in the morning. The afternoon is usually pretty open. Eventually, the range will reopen on the weekdays but it's anybodies guess how that would affect the weekend crowd. Rumor has it that it will reopen next month but that's just a rumor.

I heard opening weekdays 7/10…and yes, reservations probably only needed for early AM shooting.  I’ve been there around noon many times and never had reservation.  Plenty of room both sides.

I live in PC, I dread driving east after 11:00am….  Traffic is a lot heavier

And for me also.  Exactly for the reasons you stated above.  That apprehensive feeling of not knowing if there will be slots open while you negotiate traffic for 30+ miles is not a good feeling.

Get in, shoot, get out and let the next person in.  Works for me.

Thank goodness. I'm usually working weekend and haven't been there in far too long.

 

Per the hews this morning there will be no reservations, first come first served. Not sure if this applies only to weekdays or include Saturdays and Sundays as well…….

Yup…what they need to do is keep people from “reserving” benches for others. You want a bench, sign in and get assigned one and no one on the range or line until it opens up for sign in. I’ve seen instances of one fool taking up three benches for his buddies before the range even opens just by putting something on the each bench.
