The CMP in an effort to promote the pistol marksmanship and distinguished shooter program is re-evaluating the rules to increase the type of pistols to be used in the competition. Competitors may be no longer be restricted to only the 1911 and M9.

Under the proposed changes there will allow a greater number of handgun types and calibers. This will include service revolvers and non-US pistols. Glocks, Walthers, SIGs and other military based service pistols.

A minimum cutting score of 250pts of 300 possible is also being considered.

The attached file has more info on the proposed changes that may be implemented in the 2015 Competition Rulebook.
